Preseason 3 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Carolina Panthers

Thx for you too.

I think the swrods (the bottom row) mean the playoff seasons (five for Flacco, for example), the yellow starts mean division champisonhips (two for Flacco), the red A means championship appearances, the Super Bowl logo refers to the super bowl appearance/win - don't they?

I think the red A signifies AFC North division titles. I zoomed in and it looks like that. I don't think we recognize championship appearances.

THEORY:

What if those symbols are literal?  Like, Joe has an arsenal of that stuff on him at all times.  If you try to attack him, he'll slice and pound you into the ground.  Then he'll stand over you, staring at your lifeless body while raising the Lombardi into the sky in victory.

Wonder if Delone will play tonight?  Interested to see if he has to earn a role on the team or if he already has a spot.

But then Flacco only should have one. As far as I know, the number of decals varies from player to player - so, it's probably always for the actual player wearing the jersey.

I beg to differ: Ravens @ Chiefs, last season. We won 9:6 - if the Chiefs O (and mainly Cassell - fumble in a QB scramble in our endzone...) weren't even worse than usually - which is a feat in itself... - we would have had no chance. It was physical pain to watch us...

That game was awful, no doubt, but a win is never worse than a loss.

Best theory so far :D

How many more times are they going to harp on us losing 8 starters

It is a significant story.  At least the guys on Countdown don't seem to think it'll cost us too big, but it still is a story to talk about.

I don't necessarily subscribe to this idea. Just look at the L against the Redskins. Bad consequences? None that really mattered. Good consequences? Cam fired.

I guess I've just had the winning argument :D

Hm, captain munnerlyn is 5'8 and is a solid physical nickelback but we are so bad he starts. Drayton Florence is hard to discuss because we have been running zone defense all preseason. Josh Norman has prototypical size at 6'1 and has a long body but he is still very raw. He got benched last season for playing off his man and getting beat too often. He does have 3 interceptions so far this preseason. Charles Godfrey, I really like(a lot of others don't), he misses a lot tackles on occasion because he doesn't wrap up, however he is rarely at fault for giving up a big pass play. Mike Mitchell would be considered a bust thus far in his career but he plays with that Raiders nastiness that our choir boy of a defense needs. He reminds me a lot of Steve smith in his feistiness and willingness to be physical. Your cast off, Haruki"ninja" Nakumura can go to hell. He gave up the long pass that kept us from sweeping Atlanta and several others through your the season. Josh Thomas is solid and only gave up 2 receptions to Desean Jackson in a half last week. He graded out at a +1 according to PFF.

Our front seven could be as good as anyone's and with Davis, Kuechly, and Beason in it will give us a preview of what could possibly be the best group of 4-3 backers in the league if everyone stays healthy( unlikely)

Our secondary overall is iffy but the group I like starting is josh Thomas, josh Norman, mike Mitchell, and Charles Godfrey. That's an adequate group if our front seven can collapse the pocket consistently.

Our secondary wont be a factor tonight as I predict a lot if zone defense. Last season we played cover 3 a majority of the time to focus on stopping the run. That lead to a lot of dink and dunk drives down the field that ultimately cost us games. (I.e. Chicago )

I wouldn't expect much from our offense considering we have run but 2 or 3 read option plays and 3 or 4 play action passes through two games.

Thank you m8. I love Nakamura btw :D .

He also has a 58.7% competion percentage, has 29 INTs and has lost over 500 yards in sacks. I'm sure those statistics factor into it as well.

Of course, this IS still a preseason game, so no real game planning, some starters still sitting, so just have to watch individual performances and more one on one match-ups.

He's still stastically speaking, the best QB ever. The wins haven't come, some of it is Cams fault, some of it isn't. We just have to play better later in the game.

No problem, and by all means, take him back. Solid special teams guy but there is no way he should have been starting with us. . We need to retire the number 43 just so no one can ever wear that cursed jersey again.

I'm a bit surprised that McPhee is out.

Apparently he didn't practice on Tuesday, but no one noticed lol.  Not sure what's wrong with him, though.
