Can't wait to watch Brown defend Cam tonight.

I believe Arthur will make his biggest impact early on against this read option and these running QB..

I will be hoping for a big game from Upshaw, as well.

We actually won't run the read option but maybe once or twice. The one time we ran it last week it was an obvious choice to hand off considering the entire Dline crashed and Cam didn't keep it.

One thing to keep your eye on will be 12 David Gettis who is just returning from 2 years of being injured( one and a quarter really). He had nearly 700 yards with Teh Jimmahhhh Clausen his rookie year. Ted Ginn is also in play although I personally think he's worth nothing more than a go route.

Also, make sure to watch Luke Kuechly, 2012 DROY, he will be everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised for Greg Hardy or Charles Johnson to come up with a forced fumble and a sack or two.
Johnson had 7 FF last season with 12.5 sacks, so if he beats his man he's looking for the ball. Star will draw double teams as long as he's in but he does a good job of holding the point.

Thomas Davis is the other linebacker to watch, managed to come back from 3 acl injuries last year and finished with a career high in tackles. Our secondary and oline are not great.

This is a very vague, so take from it what you will. Another thing to note, Cam was rated the 100th best offensive player in the NFL by ESPN. I think we all can agree that is a travesty considering he has 62 TDs with almost 8,000 passing yards and 1,400 rushing yards through 2 seasons.

Our coaching is sketchy at best and that's where you will see a lot of issues during the regular season, game management. Hope we can put on a good show tonight.

This message board seems tame so I thought I would post over here a little information other than what ESPN feeds you guys.

Fun fact: aaron mellette went to school 30 miles from where I lived and that same school happens to be where my dad received his education. He is a good player, saw him play many times against Appalachian State and he always had big games. Steal in the 7th round.

It was just a little bit of information. Not many people know aaron mellette went to elon university and started out behind a receiver who had around 1,700 yards receiving in 12 games. Pretty sure Mellette followed that up with around 1500 and 1600 yard seasons.

ESPN and NFL network give us little to no coverage and what they do give us is crap. It's Cam Newton this, Cam Newton that, towel on the head wah wah wah. For as much publicity as star got leading up to the draft he has disappeared off the medias radar.

Either way, our offensive line blows outside of Kalil and Gross so your front 7 should have a field day. We run nothing but cover 3 and Man it seems so Flacco should complete around 75% of his passes with a couple TDs and an interception.
Look forward to seeing the new look Ravens, hope it works out for y'all.

Worst game this era of Ravens has ever played. Maybe the worst Ravens game ever. Just disgusting.

I beg to differ: Ravens @ Chiefs, last season. We won 9:6 - if the Chiefs O (and mainly Cassell - fumble in a QB scramble in our endzone...) weren't even worse than usually - which is a feat in itself... - we would have had no chance. It was physical pain to watch us...

Don't use ESPN at all but thanks. How about you give us some detailed knowledge on your secondary? What do the people in Carolina even know?

Speak for yourself. I've never heard of Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy or Luke Keuchly (which is why I spelled his name wrong) EVEN THOUGH I'm a Ravens fan and value great defensive play

I'm surprised he didn't mention Josh Norman. At least, I didn't see him mentioned. Norman I'd pretty talented. I think their secondary has some good talent just unknown talent.

Could someone help me out? We all know that most of our players have some kinds of decals or symbols on the left shoulder, above the heart, on their training jerseys. That's what I mean:

I think I can decypher most (conference championships, division championships, playoff games, super bowls) - but what does that muscular arm with the axe on the top signify? That's the one I have no idea about... Starting player?

That's the patch they give to the best QB in the NFL.

He also has a 58.7% competion percentage, has 29 INTs  and has lost over 500 yards in sacks. I'm sure those statistics factor into it as well.

Of course, this IS still a preseason game, so no real game planning, some starters still sitting, so just have to watch individual performances and more one on one match-ups.

They are mostly untested, that's why I'm asking if he has better information as to how these guys are doing in camp.

Haha :D

Strange, because most of our players also wear it - but who knows, maybe Webb and suggs would also be the best QBs :D

Some sort of workout bonus patch.  I'm not sure the criteria, but I assume if you show up to all camps and such, you get one.

I always understood that the decals on the practice jerseys stand for different offseason program attendance merits.

So...... about that secondary? Any in depth knowledge on either Josh and their chances of starting in the regular season?

Hm, captain munnerlyn is 5'8 and is a solid physical nickelback but we are so bad he starts. Drayton Florence is hard to discuss because we have been running zone defense all preseason. Josh Norman has prototypical size at 6'1 and has a long body but he is still very raw. He got benched last season for playing off his man and getting beat too often. He does have 3 interceptions so far this preseason. Charles Godfrey, I really like(a lot of others don't), he misses a lot tackles on occasion because he doesn't wrap up, however he is rarely at fault for giving up a big pass play. Mike Mitchell would be considered a bust thus far in his career but he plays with that Raiders nastiness that our choir boy of a defense needs. He reminds me a lot of Steve smith in his feistiness and willingness to be physical. Your cast off, Haruki"ninja" Nakumura can go to hell. He gave up the long pass that kept us from sweeping Atlanta and several others through your the season. Josh Thomas is solid and only gave up 2 receptions to Desean Jackson in a half last week. He graded out at a +1 according to PFF.

Our front seven could be as good as anyone's and with Davis, Kuechly, and Beason in it will give us a preview of what could possibly be the best group of 4-3 backers in the league if everyone stays healthy( unlikely)

Our secondary overall is iffy but the group I like starting is josh Thomas, josh Norman, mike Mitchell, and Charles Godfrey. That's an adequate group if our front seven can collapse the pocket consistently.

Our secondary wont be a factor tonight as I predict a lot if zone defense. Last season we played cover 3 a majority of the time to focus on stopping the run. That lead to a lot of dink and dunk drives down the field that ultimately cost us games. (I.e. Chicago )

I wouldn't expect much from our offense considering we have run but 2 or 3 read option plays and 3 or 4 play action passes through two games.

Thx for you too.

I think the swrods (the bottom row) mean the playoff seasons (five for Flacco, for example), the yellow starts mean division champisonhips (two for Flacco), the red A means championship appearances, the Super Bowl logo refers to the super bowl appearance/win - don't they?

I think the red A signifies AFC North division titles. I zoomed in and it looks like that. I don't think we recognize championship appearances.
