A Quick Look at the Salary Cap

For those that are still interested in making moves, here's a guide for how much we may have available.  These are all rounded numbers to make it clearer, and the 53 man roster will be an estimate because we don't know how it's going to turn out.

 

Total Cap Space for Ravens: $122.9M

 

Total for 53 Man Roster: $102.8M

Total for IR/PUP: $5.6M

Total for 8 Man Practice Squad: $0.8M

Total Dead Money: $10.6M

 

Total Commitments: $119.8M

 

Total Available Space at Beginning of Season: $3.1M

 

 

 

Remember that these are all rounded estimates.  I'd venture to say that these numbers could vary $0.5M in each direction.

 

As you see, there's not a lot of room to make moves.  We don't even have too much room to stash a lot of players on IR.  We need some in the reserves in case of injury.  For all of those saying that the McClain pay cut could be a precursor to another larger scale move, I doubt it.  There's maybe enough for another minimum signing, but that's about it.
