QB Joe Flacco

286 posts in this topic

Speaking of which, does Joe ever get with his WRs after practice like Manning and other great QBs do? I hope he does. It is critical he gets chemistry or whatever it is that prevents him from showing the defense what he is about to do!

If he didn't before, he should definitely do it now.

Flacco PFF grade was -1.8.

I don't care about PFF but I know some of you worship it.

PFF is really great for lineman, and corners sometimes.  Not as good as the tape, and we all saw what happened.

Idk, he had a lot of risky passes. I thought he was lucky he got out with only 2 picks.

Agree completely on the riskyness of the passes, however, the Keebler Elf has better hands than some on our team.

Flacco got no help last night. That second pick was awful, but it was a terrible play call anyways. 4th and 1 and you're in shotgun? He had to get rid of it.

How many big plays were dropped?

Not excusing Flacco's play, but there were at least 5-6 drops, 4 by Dickson alone and that TD drop by Clark.  Now to be fair to both of those guys Dickson was out with an injury and is just getting back, and Clark just got here and we've seem him look out of synch all preseason.  The fact is the passing offense is inconsistent, and while Joe is not the only one to blame, he deserves some of it.  Hopefully it gets better as the season goes on.

There were a lot more than 5-6 drops

There was really no where to go with the ball.  His presnap reads could have been better, but guys were smothered.  There was little you could throw to without there being a defender to contest the catch.

There was a pass to dallas clark where he just got it by the defender, but there seemed to be no where else to go with the ball.

I think it's time we acknowledge that Flacco is what he is, a streaky guy like Eli. He can win (duh), but he's always gonna do something that makes you want to tear your hair out.

You have GOT to be kidding me

Eli is a great QB, but if Flacco had his weapons he'd die of happiness.

Flacco still threw for 362 yards and 3 TDs. At this pace he's going to break 4000.

Outside the two INTs HE was the only one who played a good game on the offense.

He was sharp for most of the night, and his team let him down. The TEs can't catch the ball.

We need Pitta back, or someone to step up.

Would it have been better to just keep dumping the ball off? Or should he have tried to get his Team back in the game?

IDK  Joe just can't win. Folks either claim he is too conservative, or he takes too many risks.

Any failure of the pass game last night is not to be blamed on Flacco.  I thought he did remarkably well under the circumstances.

362 2 TDs is a good game for anyone.

Flacco played fine. (Outside his two INTs)
362 2 TDs is a good game for anyone. Flacco played fine. (Outside his two INTs)
Only one pick was really bad. The other pick was an incredible play by Denver .I wasn't too upset about that one.

I have definitely been one to be hard on Flacco when it is warranted imo; however, last night, I felt bad for Joe.  and still do!  the man had no help whatsoever.  sure he tossed 2 picks but his protection was trash and he was let down pass after pass after pass...give or take a few...by the WRs and TEs and the defense gave up way to many points for him to overcome.  no help!  when you pay the man that type of money...get him weapons and protection....(in my Malcom X voice)....."by any means necessary!"

Perfect example of why that site is a joke

My Flacco homerism aside, I have no clue what else anyone could have asked for. Seven or eight drops is just asinine, and along with our defense, is the reason we got whooped.
Hell, even with the defense as bad as it was, if we don't drop any of those passes, we likely win the game. Clark dropped TWO tds, and those other drops would have resulted in first downs, and probably a couple FG, and keeping their offense off the field as well

Get Joe some gosh dang help, that's all I can say.  Maybe Ozzie will actually look at some offensive guys in the draft for once.

Do you have any idea how many offensive players we've drafted...  Not this year but in the past.
