Videos inside news articles can be manually started

Hello Ravens.com, videos are now beginning automatically when embedded in Ravens news articles.  This is annoying ; I'm being talked at with commentary I don't like when I'm trying to read the latest article about my Ravens.

Have you tried checking your browser settings? I have mine set to not autoplay videos and therefore they don't start unless I play them.

OK, hadn't thought of that.  But that then means all video clips need to be started.  There wasn't this problem until recently, with embedding of material.

FYI, nfl.com has video in virtually every news article; thankfully, they never start automatically.

It is a setting, what browser do you use? Updates usually come out on Tuesday and that is why you are just noticing it.

Hi oz,

Thanks for reaching out to us with your issue. This is actually not a browser settings. Recently, we have experimented with some of our videos by having them auto-play within an article. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and will take it into consideration for the future.

Have a great day!
