That is nice, is this a PPR league? I cant believe you would get those WRs in a PPR.

This was on CBS, they don't really differentiate between a ppr league and standard league (I don't think any of the big name mock draft sites do, which is a shame).  But you know some people are treating it like one, others are not.

I doubt that happens in a real ppr draft though.  That would be a nice start.  RB is shaky but after that point I just started loading up on guys and handcuffs.

Who is your K & D and what's your bench?

Doesn't matter.  I'm not asking you to rate my draft.  The exercise was to see what receivers would be around the 24/25 spot after I go Jimmy Graham 13th overall.

Damn, TB's offensive line has looked horrible so far.  People might have to reconsider how early they draft Freeman, V-Jackson and Williams.

They're without Nicks and Joseph though.  Once they get them back, I think they'll be fine.

So the Foster owner might be panicking and has made me the Ben Tate owner a trade offer

He offers Mike Wallace, Foster, Malcolm Floyd

For

My LeSean McCoy, Kenbrell Thompkins, and Roddy White

I obviously laughed and rejected this.

I countered with Stevan Jackson and Djax

for

Foster and Fitzgerald

So, the league I'm in just did an auto draft because we're lazy and not that into drafting players ourselves. Anyway, I got Dustin Keller and have since dropped him, but now I need another TE and I'm not sure who to get. There are some decent guys out there so it's kind of tough to pick for me.

Mercedes Lewis, Brent Celek, and Scott Chandler were the top performers from last year that are available. There are also other guys who could do well like Zach Sudfeld and Jake Ballard who are projected to be in place of Gronk and Hernandez, also Anthony Fasano and Lance Kendricks could maybe do something. I don't really know.

Now, my other TE is Zach Miller. Does anyone think that he'd be a safe TE to keep or should I get someone else? I'm leaning towards the former but I thought I'd just throw it out there.

Celek would be a good one, especially under Chip Kelly. Maybe even the rookie TE the Eagles Drafted as well. I just think any Eagle player would be a good fantasy option with Kelly in town.

Go Sudfeld.

Drop Miller and pick up Sudfeld and Kendricks.  Lance should thrive in Bradford's passing game.  Sudfeld would be nice insurance for Gronkowski's likely injuries this season.

pretty much. Maybe he accepts because he is stupid. Maybe he decides to give a decent counter offer. He is in a really bad position though if he waits because given the rest of his team he cant afford to lose foster for nothing.

if Julius Thomas is there, look for him. He has been lighting it up in preseason.

Thanks for the input, guys. I added Sudfeld, as long as he gets through waivers, and I put Celek, Kendricks, and Thomas on my watch list. Currently, Miller is projected to get more points than them so I'm a little iffy on it. Not quite ready to pull the trigger on it, but I know I can only put so much stock into projected points. I'll wait it out and try to catch their games this week to see how involved they are.

That's insane talk.  Drafting is not only 1/2 the fun, but it is 1/2 the game.  I never autodraft a team, because it doesn't feel like a team that I personally assembled (no matter how well I pre-rank the guys).

But Sudfeld like others have said is the way to go.  Looks like he carved himself a role no matter what happens w/ Gronk.  Julius Thomas is an interesting pick-up, though he has trouble staying healthy and Welker should eat up the intermediate routes when healthy.  Stay away from Kendricks or Celek.

Just a quick question. Like I said, this is my second time playing fantasy football, ever. Just curious, is a 20 man league too big? I've read a few people say it's not as fun. And then looking at the roster breakdown, it seems like we have to fill a lot of spots. I just don't wanna join a league that isn't going to be fun, lol. Any experience with this large of a group?

QB 1

HB 2

WR 2

TE 1

WR/HB - 1

K - 1

DEF - 1

DL - 2

LB - 2

DB - 2

FLEX IDP - 1

BENCH - 14

Holy Moly.  Not only is a 20-team league a huge league, but 14 bench players is insane.  Plus double up on IDPs.  That's going to be one long draft.

That league seems to be an extreme league.  Probably not the best for new players.  You really have to draft extremely, know value, and execute strategies or else you'll be left in the dust.  You're looking at having to rank 400 skill players to fill the 7 starters and let's say 12 bench spots.  You start losing skill players who see the field at least a little around 200.

If you're new and you want to enjoy the game for what it is, I suggest trying 12-team or 10-team leagues first before jumping into a league like that.  You're probably not going to have as much fun in a 20-team league if you're new.  It's probably going to be more of a disappointing, frustrating experience.

So the Foster owner countered with another stupid offer.

Cecil Shorts + Foster for Shady and Andre Johnson

Im obviously rejecting it. The question is should I bother counter offer or basically should I wait and let the hole be dug a little deeper. Im feeling like the latter at this point since he obviously thinks I'm an idiot.

You guys are obviously very far apart and it appears no trade can be worked out at this very moment.

He thinks he's giving you an awesome player in Foster and wants to be compensated for it.  You see him as desperate to pawn off Foster.  Doesn't sound like a fair trade can be found here.

Well there goes my hope of getting Foster @ 12 on Monday.  The Texans just activated him from the PUP list.

I figured I might take some heat for admitting that, but I felt like I had to so everyone could better understand the situation. I probably wouldn't even play if I had to draft players myself. Besides the obvious players, I have no clue about players' values and where to draft them. I honestly have a slight disdain for it, but I had some fun doing it last year and the way the league is set up makes it easy to play. I want to do better this year so I thought I'd turn to the "real" fantasy players for help.

Pick 1....

White, Cobb, Welker or D. Thomas

Currently in my draft that unfortunately couldn't happen live because of circumstances. At least 1 of these will fall to me.

Edit: I'm taking Thomas. I Welker this year but I don't get how Thomas is still there at 10 for me.

I would go DT in any format. Though they are real close, it's really a personal preference.

I wasn't even expecting him to fall to me, so I hardly prepared for him. I have Rodgers so Cobb was a possibility, but I have a sleeper who could be this years Cobb who I could probably grab later. (Don't wanna say it in case someone in my league is lerking). James Jones or Nelson I think could be had later as well.

I feel like Welker will have the yards, Thomas the TD's.... Both of them will have a good amount of both, but I like Thomas better.

Thomas has better chemistry with Manning, and is still young and not done developing. He's a freak athlete and should get more 1 on 1's with Welker taking some attention away. Works both ways but I still think Thomas will score more fantasy points. Decker might have a really good year too.

I think CAR's draft stock just skyrocketed after tonight.  They had TOs, TDs, sacks, the whole shebang!

Fail.

Every single year he has at least one stupid pick.

He drafted Jackon and Ravens too who I like (defense scoring in my league is different) but his team could look really nice right now if he drafted those two instead of the ones he drafted
