Ravens sign TE Dallas Clark

222 posts in this topic

Clark would be an upgrade over Visanthe Dropcoe!! Ozzie must be letting Caldwell have some say on his  offense players!! That is a good sign!! Furstenburg  is the future,he is not going anywhere. He is to talented to put on the practice squad. So I think as long as Clark is in decent shape it is bye byeVisanthe Dropcoe!!

If we sign him I'm not even going to attempt to predict who makes the roster.  The Stokley signing complicated things enough in that respect.

People here like to bash Terps and say their overrated anyway. Matt is a beast.

everyone wanted to kill Ozzie when he drafted Torrey. saying he had small hands, etc

From what I've heard, he's done well against the third team D, but he struggles against the ones and twos. That doesn't exactly scream starter.

I mean I like what I've read about him and seen from him, especially that catch in the TB game, but I don't really understand the hype around him.

Can somebody explain?

This is like saying, "I've seen Calvin Johnson's play and loved it, and I've read nothing but good about him, but I still don't understand why he makes the Pro Bowl every year"... lol, I'm guessing it's just the way you phrased your question, but this seems almost like you answered your own question here. Seeing good plays from him, and reading good things about him, will make people excited about the player's prospects.

I would love this signing

Same. I don't care how old he is, I would love the fit and I've felt that way since Pitta got hurt.

Agreed. Clark is exactly what we need. Leadership, middle of the field receiving, savvy route runner... I would like this signing, but I think we should try to keep Furstenburg, if at all possible.

I would very much like this signing. Clark and Pitta have a very similar skill set. He could be a great repacement IMO.

Plus he's a Savy vet. That's always a plus

He's signed:

Ozzie Newsome has an agreement in principle with TE Dallas Clark.

Beat me to it.

I don't know how much he has left in the tank.  I don't think he's been the same since his wrist injury.  Still Clark is like the original Dennis Pitta.

Really. It can mean one of two things. Either Shiancoe isn't a good route runner or Ed Dickson is hurt more than is being let on.... either way, I think it is a good signing as long as Clark is durable...

Ravens are starting to look a little like the old Colts offense out there as far as Caldwell, Stokley and Clark goes. lol

I feel a little bit better about the offense, but make no mistake, it is not an upgrade to what the ravens use to have in Boldin and Pitta. Still, I'm looking forward to the new revamped defense and how the run game will go with the passing game.

idk about all that

believe me he was. He had two 11 touchdown seasons and one for over a thousand yards. from around 2007-2009 he was the bomb.

Furstenberg may develop into a much needed player at tight end in that he is a beast at blocking and has very good hands, however he is very raw with his route running.

I wonder what this means for Juszcyzk (did I spell that right, I didn't look it up this time).  Perhaps he gets carried as a third HB instead of the third TE.

Bajema and Furst are probably off the roster now.

It's a good pickup and all, but I wonder what our moves will be in the near future?

This is probably it.  We're probably tapped out cap-wise at this point.

next offseason isnt going to be fun. Sadly as much as it pains me to say this with the age of our roster ( age of some of our better players) and the contracts of flacco suggs and ngata, some unpopular decisions are going to have to be made.

More history being made between Baltimore and the Indianapolis Colts. ;) I like how Caldwell is obviously telling Harbaugh and Newsome what he wants, and they're going out and getting it for him.

It will be a lot like this offseason tbh.

We will prob restructure Suggs. Get Pitta back, and give Dayrl Smith a big deal.

Prob find a vet that was released, pick him up. Draft a WR, and a TE.
Pickup a late camp cut
