Streeter is definitely in danger, but Harbaugh could catch David Reed with his wife and still wouldn't cut him. That still leaves Torrey, Jacoby, Doss, Mellette, Williams, and Brown. We have 9 guys playing for 6 spots, and we can't IR all of the other three.

Seriously, it's time to let these young guys play and see if we actually have anything of value. They've been buried behind vets for so long, it's time to give them a shot.

I keep hearing that "give the young guys a shot". Don't they have their shots in camp and then, if they impress the coaches, the preseason. Many of these guys have been through several camps and preseasons, and they still are stuck on special teams. I would guess that the FO has a better idea about how good these guys are then we do. Although, I will give you Laquan fanboys your due. He looked really good. They should let him play with the first string against the Falcons, to see what he can do.

As for the others, f they cannot make plays in preseason I wouldn't risk giving them a shot during the regular season. A mistake could be too costly. This is the big league, not kindergarten.

Im sorry guy's but can someone please tell me what you have against signing Brandon Lloyd? I mean honestly you make it seem like he's the worst on the market. Instead we go after a injury prone old receiver and you would rather him over a guy who just 2 years ago lead the league in receiving yards? And don't get me wrong I'am one of the biggest Ozzie supporters but lets be real, he doesn't have the best history when it comes to receivers. Go ahead and neg me but you gotta be real here.

We are being real.  Lloyd does not fit this team.  He's an outside burner, not a slot receiver.  He's a locker room cancer.  He doesn't fit the "play like a Raven" mantra.  He's lazy and gives up on plays if the ball is not coming to him.  If he doesn't get the ball enough, he whines.  He's a good player on the field, but he doesn't fit what we need.  There's more to Lloyd than just his stats.  If he's really that good, why is he still on the open market, receiving no attention whatsoever?

Simply put, Brandon Lloyd is a locker room cancer. He is a headache. Even with the Patriots, he was nothing but a massive headache for the team. You may say, "well he'll turn it around on our team! We have the locker room for them to turn it around and be good teammates"... well, to this, I bring up Rolando McClain. Most, including myself, though that Rolando would turn it around here, that all he needed was a winning atmosphere. Well, what did he do the very next week, or week after?? He got arrested, and he retired to get his "life in order".

Then go after Laurent Robinson. I just never trusted Jacoby as a receiver what so ever. We need a burner who can actually catch and can play for a few more years.

I'll give you four

  1. Brandon Lloyd is a whiny little moron
  2. He's a locker room cancer
  3. He's lazy
  4.  "He thinks he is a rapper, but rap hasn't even been invented yet. So he's pretty much an idiot"

I don't want a super injury prone player

Apparently busting the door down and giving him a nice shove in the back wasn't enough for Doss. Seriously, everything lined up perfectly for you and the team has to resort to signing a 37 year old off the street. I'm so disappointed in Doss right now I almost want to end it right now and just cut him already.

Laurent Robinson can't even stay healthy enough to get on the field, despite him being cleared recently.  He's had way too many concussions.

You can't just look at the stats.  You have to look at all of the intangibles as well.  When you put all of those factors together, Stokley was and is the best option currently available.

Stokley is just as injury prone as Robinson

One guy gets banged up.  The other has multiple head injuries.  Take your pick.

I'll take the guy with the bruise's  over the concussions.

Brandon doesn't usually get season ending injuries. Robinson gets a ton of concussions.

Let me put it into lame men's terms lol.

Brandon has been playing in the NFL for 14 years. Still has 1-3 seasons left.

Robinson has 6 years. Another concussion may end it all for him

Just to play devils' advocate, we had a, 'locker room cancer' in the locker room last year and he was pretty darn helpful to us and helped us win a Super Bowl.  We cut him after.  His name is Bernard Pollard.  You think we're gonna keep Stokley after this year?  We might as well have brought in a Lloyd.  I always liked Stokley and he scored a TD on us in the POs last year so eh, here's hoping?

I wouldn't have been against a Lloyd signing at all but I still think Stokley is a good addition. As a few have said before, at the very least he's a good mentor for the youngins. If he can play at the level he did last year it is definitely worth it.

How did Rolando McClain work out for ya?

I'm not big on Robinson but knowing you if we signed him instead of stokley you would say " we don't want stokley, he's ancient and injury prone while Robinson is still young and is low risk high reward"

Rolando McClain wasn't a locker room cancer, he was a mess up. There's a big difference.

And... Lloyd isn't?? Do you even know any of Lloyd's prior history?

Pollard was a big loud mouth, and some teammates did not like that, nor did the coaches, obviously. But he was a hard worker who brought it every single down. Lloyd on the other hand... eh, not so much, my friend.

Really? Lloyd's numbers sure don't bear out the conclusion you're making.

Numbers don't tell the whole story. Lloyd is a head case. He's lazy when the ball isn't coming his way. He gives up on the ball a lot and complains a lot. I agree that his numbers look great, but there's so much more to the story. He's an absolute cancer in the locker room.

I'd also venture to say that Lloyd's numbers aren't anywhere close to that without the McDaniels factor.

Putting words into my mouth eh?

I was never opposed to stokley ever.

I'm against Lloyd 100%. Him still not being employed tells you something

I've had my disagreements with Ozzie(Upshaw. I didn't like Jacoby at the beginning. Was never the biggest Mckinnie fan), but generally it plays well in the end.

But since I've had a bad day, I'm going to repeat this once.

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE ALL ELITE PLAYERS TO BE A GOOD TEAM.

That is all

Stokley is the old, vet WR that Housh, Evans, and Washington were before him. Hope he's on the better part of the spectrum. All I know is that it's a signal the team doesn't trust the current receivers right now and is addressing it.

Disappointing because I liked what I saw and heard about Tandon Doss before the first preseason game. Oh well, there's time for the young ones to step up our else get stifled by more accomplished vets... again

Well this is interesting. I had made a post about how there is no one really out there and if there was Ozzie would sign him. This is NOT what I expected lol. Hopefully he is not in 3 wide out sets because Deonte or Doss need to step up. Get it down guys or you are going to be beat out by a geezer.

When Harbaugh mentioned some guys out there, I remember thinking Stokely could be one (along with Rhodes, Collie, & my man Clark). I like the signing. He might be old, but we didn't trade Boldin just due to age. We traded him due to his cost. I can't imagine Stokely cost a ton of money, and if another WR outperforms him then so be it. With what I saw from guys like Streeter, I am glad we got Stokely.

God, Streeter looked terrible. Very, very, very lazy. I want him gone right now I'm so mad at him.
