Special Teams is going to make noise this season!

I know our defense is going to be improved, but this could be the season that Special Teams makes a real impact on the outcomes of games. They have been really good the past couple of years, but last night they were elite. I know it is only one preseason game, but that was one hellava game! I know traditionally that Special Teams is usually not mentioned much unless they have a bad game, but it is hard to ignore them when they make an impact such as last night.

 

If they have a string of games like last night in the regular season, they will be leading off Sports Center....lol. I have to take my hat off Jerry Rosburg.

Were very lucky to have a lot of guys who like playing special teams.  A lot of them have starter potential and serve as great backups and reserves for games.

 

I think they were always great.  Usually the issue is when players try to do to much and end up compromising their lane leading to a big run.  Our guys were all over them.  Defense as well.  I have not seen us get so much pressure before.

Our ST has come a long way over the past two years.

We have ourselves a well rounded team, a COMPLETE team. Our ST's unit played a major role in a couple of our victories last year and I wouldn't expect it to be any different this season.

It makes me a little giddy every time I read Tucker either hits or comes just short of 60+ yard FG's. His range is just incredible

I'm expecting big things this year from Jacoby, maybe a kick return in the season opener? Gotta make a big statement in Denver, no doubt Harbs has a few tricks.

We got a great Punter and a great Kicker as well. As they help with field position an points respectively!

Sam Koch seemed a little off at times last year. I'm not sure if that was an injury issue or something else. But, he can be one of the more accurate punters in the league. Any time our special teams can give us the advantage in field position, that's enough to turn a game. But, the ability to take any kick or punt back for a touchdown at any time, combined with what we hope will be continued excellence by Tucker can really give us an edge over a full season.
