Preseason 1 - Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I'm pretty sure only Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce would be ahead of him on the depth chart. Are you including fullbacks, as well?

I just meant he would probably be behind Rainey and Berry (plus Rice and Pierce, of course) re running backs.  Obviously, there's not room enough for all of them on the active roster.  Allen has proven to be an exceptional lead blocker on run backs for Jones, so he'll get a spot.

This game definitely changes things.  Most of the guys I thought were going to make the 53 played very well.  So did the guys I didn't think would make it.

I know the game is down to 16 seconds; but, there's NO ONE sitting in the 200-level. That's either crazy or just embarrassing for the Buccaneers...

Juice is doing really poorly as a blocker. No power, the best I've seen him do is deflect a guy from the running lane. He's either been bounced back, stood up, or not blocked anyone.

I have to agree! He needs to hit the weight room and sit with Vonta to learn technique!

you know it!  lol!  with all of the hate he gets in here someone has to show him love when he does well.  might as well be one of his homies.  lol!

It's not weight, it's his technique.  Using the body too much.  Needs to use the hands more.

That's a game folks, some nice plays. I think I'll go with Laquan for the game ball. Only concern is some of the early drops by the some of the starters and hoping Pierce is ok.

Well this game didn't tell us much about the WR competition. Laquan Williams played well, and Mellette had a nice TD, but the starters didn't impress. Have to wait till the 1st team sees more action.

Just mentioned that Pierce has a minor ankle injury.  Nothing serious at all.  Still nothing heard on Deonte.

Yeah but don't forget at the level of competition he's playing against.  Hell Curtis Painter looked like the NFL MVP in last year's PS.

Yep! lol

Well, yeah; Anthony Allen has a roster spot simply due to his special teams play. But, if anything, Allen was on the 53-man roster, last year; and, at least he's a big RB and definitely has a size advantage over both Bobby Rainey and Damian Berry.

Can you see the future? :P

I must say, Asa Jackson, despite all the controversy, is doing everything to redeem himself in this game. Good for him!

I am told I have that gift! lol

It was Trawick, not Berry.

Nah it wasn't Berry. It was #28 Trawick.

Same number, honest mistake lol

Yeah I forgot about Thompson I also hope he is ok.

So, it appears Deonte Thompson is the only injury concern to come-out of this game, right?

We also have many positions to determine. Especially on offense. That's what those games are there for. Not winning them, but get a better feel how the final roster is supposed to look.

Lesson #1: Jacoby is #3WR

As for your lesson I couldn't agree more!

I can go to bed happy tonight with this nice win and the Red Sox lost so at least O's gained a little ground.
