The Rate My Draft Thread

I love this strategy.  I often go without drafting a kicker unless there are roster requirements.  Especially if you are drafting several weeks before week 1.   A lot of things can happen to your roster between now and then.

I also like your shotgun RB strategy.  You have a lot of talent there on your bench, the odds of someone turning into a quaility starting RB is very good.

I have no problem with your WRs.  I'd like that bunch more in a ppr, but for a standard, they'll more than get the job done.

Honestly someone decided to go Megatron Dez Bryant. His rb's are lamar miller and d-will with Mendy on the bench, I plan to extort the hell out of him.

Yep.  You know its only a matter of time before all the RB needy teams come a knocking.  They'll be scouring the waiver wire for RBs and seeing nothing.

Who's D-Will?  Miller should be fine.

you're very dense aren't you? Okay let me really spell it out for you.

Theres still a month of preseason to go

Players get hurt in Preseason

If let's say Brian Hartline goes down with a torn ACL I can drop him for a kicker before week 1.

If my team gets through the season healthy, then I drop the worst performer for a kicker.

Understand?

That's why I only do late drafts.  Why take the chance that one of your stars gets hurt in the preseason (Jeremy Maclin, anyone)?

I too am partial to late drafts.  People get so excited about the upcoming season and start drafting before we even see a PS game (or 1 game).  Too many injuries and changes occur before you even play your first game (I know some like that challenge).  Drafting earlier relies a bit more on luck (can your guy stay healthy).

10 team standard yahoo money league (3 wr 2 rb 1 TE)

QB - Colin Kaepernick

RB - Shady McCoy

RB - T-Rich

WR- Randall Cobb

WR- Andre Johnson

WR- Danny Amendola

TE- Greg Olsen

def - Cincinatti Def

Screw Kickers

Bench

Eddie Lacy

Chris Ivory

Bryce Brown

Ryan Matthews

Lance Moore

Brian Hartline

Michael Floyd

Very good team. Excellent depth at RB and WR which is a strategy I will definitely be employing this year. I doubt I will have a back-up TE or QB in a 10 team league. I'm not sure what Randall Cobb will do this year, he could turn into a legitimate #1. In my keeper league we get points for return yards so I am definitely targeting him in that league. Amendola and AJ are always slight health risks, but if you can pull off a trade you'll be in great shape even if one of them gets hurt.

Im sure I can upgrade at WR fairly easily. The rest of the season is just a waiting game.

Just an FYI Yahoo holds cash leagues. They are 10 team standard leagues (3 wr 2 rb no flex). I highly recommend entering them as if you are an above average drafter or practice a bit, you can assemble a very quality team.

12 Team

There are a bunch of custom rules: PPR, (10 pass, rush, catch is a point) 5 pass or rush attempts is a pt., 10 punt and 10 KO yds is a pt....just to name a few. Also must draft 2 kickers and 2 def.

Starters

QB: Payton Manning, Andrew Luck

RB: Darren Sproles, David Wilson

WR: Dez Bryant, Randall Cobb

TE: Greg Olsen

Def: Broncos, Ravens

K: Matt Prater, Janikowski

Bench

Le'veon Bell

Mike Williams

Andy Dalton

Brian Hartline

LaMichael James

Brandon Pettigrew

Denard Robinson

Hopefully I am not wasting a spot with D-rob, as a UofM fan that pick was all heart haha.

Lmao! I did a draft on yahoo and had to leave unexpectedly after the 2nd round and I had set my queue with players at each position group starting with TE, kinda like a position by position big board so I wouldn't forget anyone and I forgot to fix it before I left so my draft ended up like this... I had pick 14 btw.
1. Alfred Morris RB
2. Cam Newton QB
3. Jimmy Graham TE
4. Rob Gronkowski TE
5. Kyle Rudolph TE
6. Greg Olsen TE
7. Dwayne Allen TE
8. Tyler Eifert TE
9. Rob Housler TE
10. Rueben Randle WR
11. Chris Givens WR
12. Brian Quick WR
13. Jeremy Kerley WR
14. Lamichael James RB
15. Johnathan Franklin RB

Lol I hope no one else wanted a TE. I am a bit screwed though lol since all my WR's are essentially upside guys.

Damn, you really hit the jackpot at QB!  You have a decent cast of WRs.  Your RBs are a little questionable.  Olsen is one of the most reliable TEs around.  Both of your Ds are elite.  Your Ks are a little iffy, as Prater has a relatively low accuracy for a K1 (speaking from experience) and Janikowski plays for such an atrocious team that he rarely gets kicking opportunities.

You hit the jackpot with Cam and Morris, but that's about it.  You should trade some of your TEs for WRs, a RB2 and a decent D.  Also, scour the FA list for a K, I have a feeling Kai Forbath may be available.

Lol I have now learned from my mistakes and won't do a position by position queue again.

Why did you set 5 straight TE picks on your Pre-Draft Rankings?!

Lol I have now learned from my mistakes and won't do a position by position queue again.

I was doing a mock draft and selected Aaron Foster w/ my 1st round pick.  So I put Ben Tate on my que to make sure I don't forget about the early handcuff.  Then my boss walks in my office and my second round pick goes Auto and selects Ben Tate.

Needless to say, everyone went nuts on the chat.  Calling me crazy and stupid.  I had to tell them what went down.

They weren't his pre-rankings.  He added them to his que (which supersedes any rankings there are).

Exactly lol. If I hadn't had to leave I wouldn't have had any problems. The draft started out so well! Such a bummer.

Technically it was 7 straight.

Yikes!  Have you gotten any trade offers for Graham and/or Gronkowski yet?

Haven't looked lol.

Try to trade off glass cannon Gronkowski 1st.  You should get be able to swap him for a WR1 and a RB3.

You don't like Alfred as RB1 or you think I should just go for two top RBs?

Wide receivers are easier to find than rbs
