Not a big fan of relying on gore as my rb2 this year. What other options were available?i think your wr group will end up ok.

I did another 14 team mock, and really liked the team I ended up with drafting position 11.

QB: Drew Brees

RB: Ray Rice

RB: Frank Gore

WR: Reggie Wayne

WR: Miles Austin

WR: Josh Gordon

TE: Jason Witten

Flex: Giovani Bernard

Def: Miami

K:

Bench:

Bernard Pierce

Pierre Thomas

Malcom Floyd

Rueben Randle

Jeremy Kerley

Dwayne Allen

I am slightly lacking at WR in terms of qulaity, but I like the upside of the WRs I drafted later.

If Rice fell to 11 AND you got Brees, it's safe to assume the people in your mock didn't know what they were doing.

Rice has been falling in a lock of mocks I have done. People seem to be scared he will lose touches this year. I have no problem drafting him as high as 5. I think I would put AD, Martin, Spiller, and Charles ahead of him. Maybe Lynch too if its not PPR.

10-Team League: I was drafting 10th overall ;)

Ray Rice (1-10)

CJ Spiller (2-11)

Jimmy Graham (3-30)

Drew Brees (4-31)

Dwayne Bowe (5-50)

Hakeem Nicks (6-51)

Antonio Brown (7-70)

Jordy Nelson (8-71)

Montee Ball (9-90)

Fred Jackson (10-91)

Shane Vereen (11-110)

Bernard Pierce (12-111)

DeAndre Hopkins (13-130)

Baltimore Ravens Defense (14-131)

Greg Zuerlein (15-150)

What are your guys' thoughts? I ended up double dipping at handcuffs but at the time when those picks came up there wasn't much else that was really exciting at that pick atm so I figured I'd cover my bases right now with a chance to change things up later.

Can't do much better than that.  I have no problem with the double handcuff on CJ & Ray.  Your first four picks were great value picks which ended up giving you the top TE and perhaps the top QB (depending upon who you talk to).

If a RB does pop up on the waiver wire, I have no problem dumping one of your handcuffs in a ten team league.

Thanks, when i saw myself at 10 I was prepared to take WR and play lotto with RBs, but then some guy took Peyton Manning 6th overall and one guy started talking trash about Rice, I still don't know why Spiller fell. Then imagine my surprised when Jimmy is still then as well as Brees, after that I felt I could do no wrong with this draft lol

i wouldn't count on all those breaks falling your way in a real draft. Kind of annoying really. Doesn't give you an accurate read. Although you never know. There are still many who believe in the fallacy of first round qbs and many want the flashy new toys over proven Brees. Still both rice and spiller falling is a dream come true.

Damn, you're LOADED!  I'm surprised your Saints fell so much in the Draft.  Great D and K, which I always appreciate.  Not sure how to feel about Nicks and Bowe.  They have potential, but they're pretty unreliable.

You ready for the real irony? This is a draft for an actual league lol

The WR is the position I'm most worried about, but I figure I'm going to win the QB, RB, and TE match up most weeks I just need to start two WRs that aren't going to give me nothing. Plus this league starts a WR/RB flex so I can plug Ball or Vereen for some matchup points.

Well, that is about as good as a draft as you can possibly get. I'm not sure how you managed to do so, but as Ravensdan pointed out it's unlikely that many of those picks will be available in a real draft (although anything is possible). Basically your first 9 picks are all well below their ADP so great job in this mock, but I wouldnt bank much if anything except maybe snagging Rice with pick #10.

Your league is nfl.com Standard (2 WR, 1 RB and 1 WR/RB Flex) right?

Yeah, honestly I clicked on it thinking it was a mock and it wasn't until I was near the end of the 5th that I realized I'd joined some random NFL.com league (oops!!), but after my first 4 picks I like, why not I'm alread set to dominate the league anyway lol

Yeah I believe so, like I said It wasn't a league I was planning on joining, but barring an injury I won't have to mess with my matchups too much lol

Yeah I was just testing out the NFL.com system because prior to this I mainly have used Yahoo, if this is the type of luck I get on every NFL draft then I'll like it lol

Well there's no money or bragging rights with folks you already knew involved so that's kind of a mock

You're going to go the entire season without a kicker?!  That's about 10 pt down the drain every week.

Anyway, I like your QB (no QB2?) TE and RBs.  Not so sure about your WRs...

10 team league. I can rely on waivers for a backup qb and kicker no point in drafting one since injuries in preseason may occur to my players. If that is the case I just drop that player for a kicker.

I like my wideouts, but I have ample trade bait to upgrade and will should opportunity come.

Why didn't you just draft a K in the last round, as is normal?  Wouldn't that have made sense, instead of drafting someone you know you didn't need?

I explained this in the last post but I will do it again.

IF ONE OF MY PLAYERS GETS INJURED, I can drop them for the kicker instead of dropping a player that could possibly contribute.

So you plan on playing without a kicker until one of your prospects gets hurt?  You could go entire months without a kicker in that case.

I love this strategy.  I often go without drafting a kicker unless there are roster requirements.  Especially if you are drafting several weeks before week 1.   A lot of things can happen to your roster between now and then.

I also like your shotgun RB strategy.  You have a lot of talent there on your bench, the odds of someone turning into a quaility starting RB is very good.

I have no problem with your WRs.  I'd like that bunch more in a ppr, but for a standard, they'll more than get the job done.

you're very dense aren't you? Okay let me really spell it out for you.

Theres still a month of preseason to go

Players get hurt in Preseason

If let's say Brian Hartline goes down with a torn ACL I can drop him for a kicker before week 1.

If my team gets through the season healthy, then I drop the worst performer for a kicker.

Understand?

I'm sure he'll have a kicker on his roster for week 1.  Its just a matter of cutting the low hanging fruit.  There is no need to have a kicker on the roster for three weeks while you wait out the PS news.
