It's now pretty clear that Daryl Richardson has won the starting job in STL, so only pick up Pead as a handcuff.

That is what it looks like for now, but Pead could easily take the job over at some point. Richardson is far from a special talent plus Pead has a 1 game suspension so by default Richardson is the starter.

STL's staff has vocalized their displeasure with Pead's lackluster performances so far: 2.6 ypc and a fumble.

Still not a situation I trust. It's most likely going to end in a time share.

In which case, both of their stats will suffer.

Who would you rather start Week 1, Jacoby @ DEN or Shorts vs. KC?

Shorts, and its not close.

But KC has an elite defense and Flacco's boys will be playing against a troubled secondary a Mile High.

It's all about opportunity. Jacoby is like the 4th or 5th option for Flacco. Shorts is the undisputed #1 target in Jax.

Damn, do you think Jones has fallen that much to Stokley and Clark?

I see it like Torrey, Rice, Dickson, Stokley, Jones/Clark. So yes. I wouldnt draft him at all unless your league gives points for return yards. Harbaugh has already said he will be on a limited snap count.

Got him off Waivers.  How big do you think Boldin will be in Fantasy?

Not very.  But he'd be awesome in playoff-only leagues.  Much rather have Boldin in a ppr league than a standard league.

They made this clear a couple weeks ago.  But like Gabe said its a very fluid situation.  He's a starter in namesake only, if he has one bad game and Pead steps up, then things will change quickly.  But he isn't going to get as many guaranteed touches as some people think.

BJGE or Bernard?

Bernard.  It might be rough sledding at first because BJGE is still the starter and the better pass protector.  But its going to be hard for the Bengals not to use Bernard's big play ability.

The Bengals have been dying for someone like Giovani.  They were hoping Bernard Scott would be that guy, but he could never stay healthy or get it going.

If you acquired Woodhead, you have to be pretty excited about his prospects.  Matthews is perpetually hurt and Tolbert's got an injury too, so this could be the year Woodhead really goes AWOL.

Love Woodhead in ppr leagues.

But I am one of the few (many only one) that thinks Mathws rejuvenates his career this year and stays healthy.  Too bad he's going to have to do it behind a horrid OL.  He's had a great PS showing so far.

With that being said, I still don't own him in any fantasy leagues.  He's going to lose 3rd down work, and that O-line is bad.

I'm done with Mathews. Only way he would ever make my team is if he was my #3.

...too many heartbreaks

I'd bump Eddie Lacy above Ryan Matthews.

Yep.  Lacy doesn't have the physical baggage that Matthews does, plus he's younger.

I just  drafted Ryan Matthews...I feel ill.

Hey he's got to stay healthy and be productive some time, maybe its this year...right?
