If he was, but he isn't. Therefore he's a fake oasis, otherwise known as a mirage.

Correct.  He's no longer an oasis.   :D

Or is he?

And as we speak about Ivory, Rotoworld put out a blurb about him becoming a 3-down back and catching balls.  So its possible, but I won't be holding my breath.

The Jets hope that Chris Ivory can become a three-down back.

"I think with a back with that skill set, you definitely want to work toward that progression," said RBs coach Anthony Lynn. "I don’t know if he’s dropped a ball since he’s been here. He’s showing nothing but natural hands." Ivory has all of three career catches on five targets, but New Orleans had a stable of legitimate pass catchers. The Jets don't. If Ivory can stay off the trainer's table and secure a three-down role, his fantasy stock will skyrocket.

Its one thing to do it in practice, its another to do it in a game. Ivory has yet to show he can catch in a game lol

I think Lamar Miller's fumble on MIA's opening snap will bring him down a couple spots on the ranks.

I doubt it. Did you watch him rip off two 10 yard runs when he actually got the handoff cleanly? His stock is rising.

You have an itchy trigger finger.

Probably just jitters.  For the couple of rushes he did have, he looked pretty explosive.  I view him as this year's Doug Martin in terms of opportunity, draft stock.  (even though he isn't a rookie).

It doesn't help that Tannehill is looking like he could be in for a slump.  Not to mention he'll have to fight for reps with Thomas and now Gray.

Your looking into that first preseason game too much.  Tannehill was without Wallace and Hartline.  His top two weapons.

By all accounts Tannehill is having a good TC.  I don't expect the world from him, but he should be able to get the job done.

Lamarr Miller doesn't have to fight for reps w/ anyone. He is the guy.  Daniel needs to worry about fighting for the backup job.

He did pretty horrible on his 5 pass attempts.

5 pass attempts, without his top 2 targets.  Anyone could do bad in that situation.

Tiny tiny sample size

I'm not even a Tannehill fan and I think the Dolphins will fall in their face but you can't base all that on the hof game

How would you guys rank Pierce and Bernard in comparison to each other? I'm debating trading Jermaine Gresham for Bernard, dropping Pierce, and picking up Jordan Cameron on the waiver wire.

I'm amazed by your ability to split a running back into two players. However, I'm not sure which one would be better...Bernard or Pierce.

Bernard > Bernard

You'd much rather have Bernard (Not Pierce).  Even though he's in a split, he has a potential to be a starter.  He also catches balls out of the backfield.  Rice would need to go down with an injury (and he's proven to be durable) to have better value than Bernard at this point.

But anyone who would trade Bernard for Gresham is a fool.  RB is a greater value, Bernard is way more valuable, and both of these guys have their arrows pointing in opposite directions.

I think of Benard in that way.

What? What is going on here!? lol

I can't recall any other Bernards or Pierces that are fantasy relevant other than the obvious. What is the full name of Pierce when you mention him here?

Giovani Bernard and Bernard Pierce.

Thanks! I'll have to give this guy some consideration apparently. I know I've seen the name but never cared for looking into him.

edit: hopefully it's obvious that Giovani is who I'm talking about.

Bell. Not because of talent, but he will have more opportunity, unless he sucks.

Which Bell is he talking about?

I assume Le'veon Bell, Steelers rookie RB.

I think Bernard is the best bet.  He's pretty much guaranteed to start, whereas PIT has had a chaotic history with its young RBs the past season.

Bell is the one that is guaranteed to start.  Green-Ellis is still the Bengals #1 RB.

More like the exact opposite.
