I think Brees is actually a better fantasy QB than Rodgers.  With The Cook, Sean Payton, back in the kitchen, Brees will be lighting up the league again.  Also, I think you should swap Cutler and Schaub's places.

I'd bump Cam to tier 2 due to his added points from running the ball effectively. Wilson could also qualify for that bump IMO if you think he won't slump this year. Also Locker should be in the last resort starters category since he puts up solid numbers when he plays. The durability limits him to last resort to this point though.

Brees or Rodgers, Senor Yahtzee?

Agreed.  Even with the fantastic year that Peyton had last year.  Cam still finished ahead of him, I believe.

I have Cam a lot higher.

Agreed abut Cam.  I think he is a tie 2 guy.

I feel Rodgers is significantly ahead of Brees due to improved line play there. Remember 11 when Rodgers had time as well as a running game? He has a chance to be a record breaking fantasy player this year.

Conversely the New Orleans line is weakened. Their tackles are not as good as years past. This leaves room for Brees to take more hits than normal. Same as Peyton manning.

The difference for me of those top 3 is the consistency. They will throw successfully 10 out of 13 games in my estimation which is what separates them from the tier 2.

What keeps cam out of that is his mental make up. While he is capable of surpassing guys ahead if him. When the chips are down I don't have the same confidence in him.

Wilson is only a matter of offensive philosophy keeping him a step behind.

Now I preface all of this by saying the margin of difference between number 1 and 21 is not great at all. This is the deepest fantasy qb class ever.

As for locker, he could bump up a notch I agree with that.

I feel that same way too.  And another major different is INTs.  I think over the last three years, Brees has thrown almost double the amount of INTs as Rodgers has.

Well, I never know with you Poe. Anyways I'd say Brees because of the offense NO runs.

What do you mean, NO has Thomas and Ingram?

While this may be true in real life football, down the stretch last year he was the hottest QB in fantasy football.   He's only going into his third year as well!

Last nine regular season games played (6 points for Passing TD & Rushing TD, 1 point for 25 yards, -2 INT):

Cam - 228

Wilson - 226

Brees - 224

Rodgers - 215

Manning - 202

Yep, I love me some Fig Newton-s!  His running is what makes him fantasy gold.

Yep. That and his goal line ability. Those figures above are for six points per passing TD. If the number was 4 points (like many leagues), he was even that more dominant down the stretch.

Wait a minute - how did Schaub get to be better than Cutler? Cutler and his picks are one thing. But Schaub and his inability to make the 3rd down throws (New England both times last year left a real bad taste in my mouth for him)

I found him to be more reliable than Cutler.  We have no idea how Cutler will mesh with Trestman's system, plus Forte is injury-prone.

But you know which 2 New England games from last year I'm referring to right? I mean Houston could have had a shot...that guy just never made the throws to keep the chains moving

I guess it's whatever. Ravensdan did say the margin of difference is slim

All I know is I would hate to be at a spot in the draft where I had to pick between the 2.

I had Cutler one year. The first year where he assaulted Brett Favre's record on INTs...he was going for 3 and 4 per night. Can't remember if I sat him or cut him or what...

To sum up:

There's Jimmy, then spin the wheel, then pick your poison.

Not a Davis fan?

He's a spin the wheel guy. Though the reports of him lining up as a WR are intriguing.

But Boldin might keep him inconsistent like he did Pitta.

Vernon Davis, Jimmy Graham, the Minnesota kid

I think Fred Davis or Ed Dickson or the Indy TE would be a decent pick in later TE drafting rounds. I haven't really ever thought too much of Martellus but maybe he's a good late TE round pick too

Kyle Rudolph, lol.  Myers should be good in NYG.

You just made my point for me. You mention the last 9 games, but what about the first 8? That's what keeps him just behind the other guys IMO. I have him at 6 so he's right there. I could put him over Brady and I just like Wilson better as those two should Finnish close.

I scooped up Rudolph last year and he was getting in the endzone.

Lance Kendricks or Scott Chandler could be a steal
