I think steelers WR corps much better than ours but our RBs better by far.

I agree your running backs are by far better

I concur. They are legit starters but can wheaton step in for wallace?

that's the million dollar question......we shall see lol

It's not that I don't believe you but I haven't heard that much trashing on NFL network and i don't watch ESPN(for obvious reasons). On NFL network,NFL.com,and Bleacher Report we get our fair shake.

NFL Network (and NFL.com) does not have a common thought process.  It completely depends on each individual analyst/host/writer.  None of them ever alter their opinions, it seems, after actually watching the games.  Some have always supported the Ravens, and some will always doubt them.  I'd say it's pretty split, and the one aspect of our team that seems to be the deciding factor in how they feel about us is how much faith they have, or don't have, in Joe Flacco.  Also, where they feel we'll finish in the division depends on how much they love, or don't love, Ben Roethlisberger.  There are plenty of Raven haters on that network/website, and they only get louder and adamant when it appears they may be wrong.

As far as BR, it has no more credibility than anyone on the street talking about this stuff.  However, the amount of Raven hate was rampant on there for months after our championship.  It is only recently that some supporters have surfaced.  However, it is no where near enough to push that site in our favor.  For example, they just had an article a couple days ago that had Baltimore ranked #18 in the league (last in our division).  I believe our blurb ended with, "I won't believe the Ravens will be fine without Ray and Ed until I see it."  That quote basically sums up the majority of the media outlets when it comes to the subject of the 2013 Baltimore Ravens.

I know our thing is to be the team everyone unfairly underrates but dude, it really isn't true. People have voiced legitimate concerns about the Ravens but still have them ranked high, usually first or second in the division. I have not seen one person(let alone multiple people) putting the Browns over the Ravens, your painfully exaggerating.

I have seen it.  I'm not just making stuff up.  BR has had multiple articles proclaiming the Ravens will finish last in the division.  They also have a bunch with them in other positions in the AFC North.  Just because you didn't see the ones I was referring to does not mean I am making them up or exaggerating.  They write articles like this several times a week.  Also, like I said at the beginning, it's about 60-40.  It isn't like I'm saying every single person thinks the Ravens are dead in the water.  However, it is very far from a consensus amongst the media, and BR, that they will be just fine.

Edit:  Here's the article I was referring to in the previous post:  http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1713145-nfl-preseason-power-rankings-start-of-training-camps-edition

If you read this one, you can no longer make the claim that not one person put the Browns over the Ravens.  This was very recent, but like I said, there were much, much more in previous months.

Like this: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1621957-winloss-predictions-for-every-nfl-team-post-nfl-draft

There.  Now you've seen at least two.

He thinks we're going to get the #1 overall pick in the draft?  Yeah, I don't see that happening.

I'll take Clowney!!!!

that article is ridiculous.......I couldn't believe the Seahawks were number two

this statement in particular made me laugh

."Quarterback Russell Wilson and the Seahawks would run away with almost any division in the NFL"

they were good for one year.......now he has them as the second best team

I would love to switch the browns for the seahawks this year just to watch them come in last in our division

I agree that they wouldn't last too long in our division. I suppose they would be competing for last place year in and year out! Also, Russell Wilson wouldn't have a great shelf life in our division.

BR is full of fans who write articles. Some of them are unbiased but most are just fan fluff pieces that give opinions on what is reported from the national media. So if you go to the Ravens BR section you'll probably hear a lot of the same talk you hear on this board. The Ravens aren't getting much respect, the Ravens have added more talent then they lost, etc. If you go to another teams section you'll hear the same things the national media says about the Ravens. They've lost too much, Flacco has major pressure, the have no talent at WR etc.

We have legit questions on both sides of the ball given turnover and injuries. Fortunately we'll see legit answers soon enough. I choose to believe that the Ravens have filled (and improved) the voids defensively. Offensively its entirely up to the coaches (scheme), Joe, and skill guys to step up. Again I think we'll be better offensively than last year. Caldwell is a big reason, plus Joe has a SB MVP swagger now. ;)

I wonder why the sky isn't falling for them in the media's eyes with their WRs dropping like flies the way is is for the Ravens without Pitta, or even the way it was for the Steelers when it looked like they might lose Wallace AND Sanders this season.

its the "new is exciting" syndrome

seahawks being good is new....steelers and ravens being bad would be new

they want to predict things that aren't common so people are interested in their article.....but what they fail to realize is people will write them off as Hack's.........

Suggs is going to win his 2nd def player of the year award. He's going to lead a D that will demolish Peyton and shut ppl up. Our offense might not be as good as it could have been with pitta, but hey, our D I feel will be the best in the league.

Good point, and if you think about it that whole division (NFCW) becoming relevant has put the league on notice but how long will they be the NFL's darlings?  That division has been god awful for so long that now that it's turned the page people think they are the best because they have been better lately.

honestly I feel that our division is one of the best if not the best.......I feel bad for the Browns, they are not that bad but they usually go 1-5 0r 2-4 in our division

imagine if they replaced the Patriots in the AFC east......they might win that division

Hey fellow Ravens fans. Sorry I haven't been around to chat. Its been a whirlwind here. Anyway to the task at hand. How many of you are hearing about the Ravens impending doom? I have been hearing it at work and everywhere else I turn. We lost so many players. The team is a shell of what they were. No Lewis, Reed, Ellerbe, Kruger, Pollard, Boldin, Birk, Leach and now this injury to Pitta. They dont have any receivers other than Smith. No playoffs for the Birds. I even heard an 0-16 record thrown out there! Guess folks don't take into account the numerous signings like Dumervil, Canty, Spears, Huff, and our draft picks. Me personally I am excited for the season to start. I am gonna miss seeing Boldin and not sure about the WR situation but I don't get paid to worry about that. That's the front office's job. I am sure Ozzy has something in motion now. This team I think will be better. They are faster, younger and being under estimated. I had to get this out and vent. Getting sick of hearing about how the sky is falling and that the Ravens have to chance.

We're the Ravens man. Lol
People LOVE to HATE us... That comes with being a fan of the black purple and gold.
I believe that we'll have another solid season b/c we still have key pieces in tact, Harbaugh is a hell of a coach and our FO is top 3 in the league.
Every season a champion has to be battle tested and face a bit of adversity.. but we are still the Ravens, we'll find a way, we always do.

It is hard for anyone to repeat. That is a given, but getting to the playoffs is half the battle, and this team WILL be in the playoffs. I cannot honestly say the same for the 49ers.

haha well lets just say  ill agree to disagree

Watching that deadskins clown Fred Smoot on CSN trash the Ravens and then praise a mediocre team like the redskins makes me shake my head.

There.  Now you've seen at least two.

I'm saying you are making it seem like its a majority saying we will fail when it isn't. Thats all I was saying. We are in the AFC(a very safe and static conference), so while a few are trying to make big out there picks, most in the football world have the same teams making playoffs with mostly the Colts falling out. You are exaggerating. This isn't the NFC.

yawn, you all go through the cycle of the same topics for the offseason.

And you're still here reading them…

Edit: Fixed the grammar for you too ;)

Ray Lewis went out, Ravens are done.

Suggs went out, Ravens are done.

Webb went out, Ravens are done.

McKinnie ate too many burgers, Ravens are done.

Joe Flacco is their QB, Ravens are done.

Lol..

Hopefully Doss and Dickson will step up, but Joe + Caldwell will figure it out. Don't forget about Ray Rice and Pierce. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ray lined up at the slot and Pierce as the singleback.

Very well said my friend, very well said!

I'm saying I'm not exaggerating.  I do still feel the majority, though slight majority, is doubting our ability to remain among the contenders in the AFC.  It's really useless to argue about it since we are all in different areas, watching and reading from different sources.  There is no way to definitively prove one way or the other exactly how many media members, or BR writers, are writing us off.  I've seen quite a few, and more than those who aren't.  I don't have access to the local media, or simply follow the Ravens Team Stream, which are both obviously more prone to siding with the home team.  If you have had a different experience, great.  It doesn't mean I'm exagerrating, just like I wasn't when I said people had the Browns finishing ahead of us.  It didn't matter that YOU hadn't seen "one, let alone multiple" people picking Cleveland to finish ahead of us.  The fact is, there were.  Please don't say I'm exaggerating because I have had a different experience than you have.
