Props To Front Office

Im on the props kick so while we are at it, the FO done a great job with strengthening our secondary. Cmac and Landry have both been out for most the season. We are NOT getting gashed like last year. I cant say what the real numbers are but I bet we are least middle of the road or better in pass defense. Good Job!

Leonhard
Zbikowski
Nakamura

All play makers.

The Jim Leonard signing was HUGE. If we didn't sign him we'd be in trouble because although I really like Zbikowski and Nakamura I don't think either could have come in early in the season as a rookie and done what Leonard did. What was it the first Browns game where he had those key punt/kickoff returns? Huge. Maybe now the rookies could fill in since by this point they've had the equivilent of more than a full college season but at the time of Landry's injury they would have been a liability.

Although he does provide needed depth I'm still not a fan of Frank Walker for two reasons. First, the way he got beat so badly in the preseason leaves me unsure if he's playing better or opposing offenses are simply not taking advantage. Remember he hasn't played much since he started when both Rolle and McAlister were out and was inactive last week. In fact he hasn't even been the 3rd corner so I'm not sure how much he's been playing. Second, his attitude is even worse than McAlister and that would be ok if he could at least back it up. Now Fabian on the other hand was brilliant. Don't you think Oakland is kicking themselves now especially after the fiasco with DeAngelo Hall? The guy is only 25 with blazing speed and will be a key to our secondary for years to come.

Unfortunately, from what I've seen of him (and I've watched every game in it's entirety this year), Walker has made the wrong type of impact.
He's got a long way to go in coverage, and he's a bit undisciplined. There's some potential there with him, if he were given enough time and the opportunity, he could develop into a solid number two. I just hope it's for another team.

My BAD. I thought the list too short. Frank Walker has turned into a respectable DB.

The big, big differance between this year and previous years is our second string is far far better than ever before.

Injuries are much less costly.

yeah, and another half dozen times hes been burned.

Im not saying that a CB should be perfect, thats not practicle.......I mean look at CMAC (man we need some CB's)

But Im just sick of hearing people praise washington when hes mediocre at best
