[News] Tight End Dennis Pitta Dislocates Hip, To Miss At Least Season Opener

348 posts in this topic

Chill next man up, dont listen to the noise about how bad off we are analyst know nothing about the Ravens. We are in talks with Visante Shiancoe, people also need to look to Ed Dickson at one point, Dickson was thought to be what Pitta became for us lets see if he can get back on track, also opens up opportunities for the UDFA Matt the TE from Maryland.

True no need to worry after all we do have Ed dickson and he has been building that rapport with Joe and pitta's young so who knows when he will really come back maybe sooner than we think but as ravens fans we know this no matter what hardships come our way we always make it through remember when in '11 Ed was joe's number 1 TE and got hurt in the atl preseason game pitta stepped up and now that he's hurt Ed has return the favor and become the number 1 TE again like b4

It's not just according to espn, nfl network is reporting that Pitta is gone for the season also. Maclin, speedster wr from the Eagles, is out for the year with a torn acl also.

the great teams can weather the injuries, last season we lost lewis, suggs, ngata, and webb, among others, but the young guys and backups stepped up and we went 10-6 with a championship ring.

Every year it seems we lose a top starter in training camp. I wish we could stay healthy one year. This hurts especially after suffering all those injuries last season. I do have faith that Ed Dickson could step up, but I was hoping to see both Ed and Dennis on the field. It will be interesting to see if we add someone or if someone steps up and we just keep what we already have.

NFL Network is just repeating what the original source told ESPN.

According to the Baltimore Sun:

"The Ravens haven’t officially declared him out for the season but they are aware that it is a definite possibility."

So, until the team officially announces he's done for the season, then there's still a (slim) chance he'll be back sometime this year.

It's probably 90% though that he is done for 2013.

To think Doss been here for 3 years Williams for 3 and Streeter out for season last year is crazy, time to make the trade like when we got Boldin. Time to pony up Ravens!!!

I want Furstenburg to step up. I realize he's only a rookie but he has so much potential. Also Pitta and Furstenburg have almost the exact same physical attributes.

Pray Pita will recover quickly. If this had to happen, it is better now than in the middle of the season. I know that Ozzie and John would not have the other TEs and WRs on the roster if they did not think they had the talent to play. Lets just hope that with all of training camp and preseason ahead that a couple of these guys really man up.

Ozzie dose a great job and I'm not complaining but Ozzie doesn't draft wide receivers and when we get one we trade them for a six round pick

anyone else think this will make the ravens push to pick up Brandon Lloyd to help out with our passing game?

Wow! Dennis Pitta seems to have a fractured hip and may miss the entire season. Now, my concerns have gone from feeling hopeless about our receiving situation to being concerned about Dennis Pitta himself. I can now only hope that Dennis has a speedy recovery and is able to suit up as soon as possible. Mostly, I want him to have a fruitful career and safe recovery.

The Ravens will figure out a way for life without Pitta, as it is very early in the training camp. What an unfortunate turn of events. Here is the link for the article for those that are interested:

And then we use the OVERPAID WR's $9 million to sign Dumerville, Huff & Canty
