[News] Tight End Dennis Pitta Dislocates Hip, To Miss At Least Season Opener

@baltravens: If we kept Boldin we wouldn't of got some of the players we do now on defense. Which include Spears, Canty, Huff, Dumervil, etc. Boldin is a good player but not one that posted great numbers every week. He was off and on all season. Yes he showed good hands in the playoffs and good for him but we have a roster filled with talent.

Brees was under Cam Cameron. The years with Cameron his stats suffered. The years without he has become one of the best Quarterbacks in history. Did you see how confident Flacco plays now? He is able to throw it 1st down, 2nd down,3rd down, and 4th down now with Caldwell. With Cameron it was run 1st run 2nd 3rd pass.

Flacco will find the open receivers. People forget to add in that we have Ray Rice. He IS a receiver and probably our best receiver. Throwing quick passes down low to him and having his agility take him the distance gives us plenty of yardage. Flacco will have Rice (probowler), Dickson, Smith (Starter last year), Jones (Super speed and couldve been superbowl MVP..), Doss/Reed/Thompson unproven and very talented wide receivers, and Juice/Leach.

Do not get another tight end Ravens. Pitta will come back week 4 at the latest and probably a lot sooner. He is younger he will heal faster. Give Flacco a chance and use that leftover cash on something we need more.... Maybe an O-lineman. Our offensive line has been struggling in training camps we may need another free agent veteran. We don't need another tight end.

We still need a stalwart WR to complement Torrey before anymore offensive linemen mainly because we will find out whether Gino or Shipley will start at center.

I am still believe Ozzie will bring in another pass catcher, but I am not sure just who.

How bout and article on how Cody and Gradkowski had half the team brawling today! Where is the team chemistry? Lewis, Reed, Boldin, Birk, and Leach would have not let something like that happen!!

Not true. Brawls like that happen every year and basically every organization. What it shows is that the guys are determined - not that we don't have enough leadership.

Well this will give Dickson extra motivation and Furstenburg will get to see more reps. We just need to survive the time without Pitta and i think we can spread the ball around enough to do that and well we still have Rice and Pierce. and a new FB who can catch!

@baltravens: We do not need another receiver.... Torrey is a great player. Jacoby is a great player and probowler. Pitta is. Dickson is. Rice is. And those are the proven receivers he has to throw to. If we don't let the talent we have on the roster touch the field how will we know if they are better than any veterans we could bring in?

A lot of teams have the problem of never letting the people they draft play. And then those players sign to other teams or show up later. Just like Steve Young in Joe Montana's shadow. He never played until Montana left or got injured I cant remember. Now Steve Young is one of the best players in NFL history. LET OUR PLAYERS PLAY.

There's no sugar coating this one , pittas flaccos favorite target now that boldins gone . Gonna be tough to reecooperate especially now Torrey will be doubled teamed a ton . This is such a bummer hopefully we can pull through without pitta , Matt furstenburg can hopefully break through and play solid next to Dickson

Well, it is probably a difference of opinion, but I think Ozzie will pick up another pass catcher to assist Flacco in moving the ball down the field.

Baloney, Steve Young is not one of the best players ever. IMO, He and Sapp should not even be in the Hall of Fame!

This just in. On Bleacher Report they are saying Pitta will be out for the season now, not just a few games.

Now we should worry about another TE to resign.

This is heart breaking to even lose Pitta for a game in the regular season. I suppose not it has become a more even playing field given Von Miller's loss for the Broncos.

However, this gives players like Ed Dickson an opportunity to contribute and get some chemistry with Joe and Furstenberg to make the team...

At least it didn't come the week before game #1... like with Suggs last season, luckily most of the rehab time (hopefully...) is during the camp and the pre-season.

That's bad enough, of course - but still not as bad as it could have been.

BTW, have we ever been given any kind of info why Shiancoe was in the Castle on Friday? That's like the second indication Ozzie sees the future: last season he drafted a pass-rusher with our first pick - and weeks later Suggs gets injured. Now he invites a TE - and the next day our prime TE gets injured...

Now, that's a bit frightening  :)

Espn reporting he is out for the season. Hopefully they are wrong again. Be great if he is only out long enough for Joe to bond with Dickson. Better blocker. Better speed.

Love to see Doss, Thompson and Streeter step up.
