How bout and article on how Cody and Gradkowski had half the team brawling today! Where is the team chemistry? Lewis, Reed, Boldin, Birk, and Leach would have not let something like that happen!!

Tough luck for real!
At least this didnt happen midway through the year.
Maybe bring in Shiancoe?

We have very few proven and "consistent" weapons at recieving. That's something we have to come to terms with whether people want to hear it or not. Outside of Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones(who's really not a natural #2 receiver, we need some help. And QUICK.. Hopefully somebody steps up, in our young group of players. Cause if they don't, Flacco is going to be working with little to nothing. Though it can also be argued he's worked with that his entire career, but that's besides the point.

Very sad news, but in sports it's next man up. Let these young WR show us what they have. Very far fetch, but could Kyle Juszczyk be a contender? I know he's a FB/TE.

Not the end of the world. He will be back in time for the playoff run. Thank goodness we have Dickson. Furstenburg and Bajema will be adequate for two tight end sets. They have the whole preseason to get up to speed. Having Tandon Doss and Deonte Thompson won't hurt either. We really need Streeter to step in the red zone now. With his size and speed he could be unstoppable. Jim Caldwell and Flacco will have things ready to go by Sept. 5.

What a shame but at least it's not what Philly's going through. They just lost their top WR for the season with an ACL tear.

Step it up Dickson ! We need you to play like it's a contract year, because it is a contract year.

Well the bright side, if there could possibly be one, is that at least it happened early in training camp, so hopefully we won't miss him for too many regular season games. Maybe 2 or 3. Its late in the season when we need everyone healthy. Also this gives the Ravens plenty of time to find someone to fill the void. It's going to be Dickson starting obviously, but someone needs to step up and be No. 2. Will that be from inside the organization or from outside?

We have always been a next man up mentality. This one is going to test it. This is a hard knock, but we do have other talent and most of preseason to get them worked in. Caldwell and Flacco will get the others ready. It just will mean that those other TEs and WRs will need to bring their A game more.

I saw the highlights on here of the training camp today... The receivers looked good in the passing game. Doss with one handed catches, Smith and Jones getting seperation, and we saw Mellete and Juice even get into it. We need Dickson to step it up but I think we will manage a game or a few without Pitta. But we need him back ASAP.

Ouch, this hurts. Guess it will give Dickson more of a chance to get more play time and targets. May help keep the door open for the rookie from U of Maryland who has shown some good ability in both receiving and blocking. In the end this could be a good thing,

Pitta should be fine with 5 or 6 weeks of healing as long as there is no serious bone damage, and this will allow more of a chance for other players to get playtime in preseason and the first game or two, which could make the offense better as the season progresses.

Of course the press is going to make more out of this than it deserves and some will talk trash that is senseless. It is one of those things that makes a team setup like the Ravens special, they have a lot of talent at almost every position. Maybe not many super stars but good depth so the next man up isn't that far of a drop.

I have a feeling that he won't be out too long. ...See how important Boldin was? Now that he is gone too, what are we to do???

Do not get Shiancoe. We have Pitta, Dickson, Bajema, and good looking undrafted TE's. We do not need another tight end. Especially an old tight end. That money can go somewhere more needed later in the season. We can survive without Pitta a few games. Let the young and unproven play. Flacco has many targets I'm sure a couple can get open a few times every game. If not we have the best duo running back squad in the NFL.

@baltravens: If we kept Boldin we wouldn't of got some of the players we do now on defense. Which include Spears, Canty, Huff, Dumervil, etc. Boldin is a good player but not one that posted great numbers every week. He was off and on all season. Yes he showed good hands in the playoffs and good for him but we have a roster filled with talent.

Brees was under Cam Cameron. The years with Cameron his stats suffered. The years without he has become one of the best Quarterbacks in history. Did you see how confident Flacco plays now? He is able to throw it 1st down, 2nd down,3rd down, and 4th down now with Caldwell. With Cameron it was run 1st run 2nd 3rd pass.

Flacco will find the open receivers. People forget to add in that we have Ray Rice. He IS a receiver and probably our best receiver. Throwing quick passes down low to him and having his agility take him the distance gives us plenty of yardage. Flacco will have Rice (probowler), Dickson, Smith (Starter last year), Jones (Super speed and couldve been superbowl MVP..), Doss/Reed/Thompson unproven and very talented wide receivers, and Juice/Leach.

Do not get another tight end Ravens. Pitta will come back week 4 at the latest and probably a lot sooner. He is younger he will heal faster. Give Flacco a chance and use that leftover cash on something we need more.... Maybe an O-lineman. Our offensive line has been struggling in training camps we may need another free agent veteran. We don't need another tight end.

I was really getting tired of hearing about what a bad idea it was to trade Boldin. Now that Pitta is going to be down for awhile I know we are going to start hearing it all over again.
Its over, Boldins gone. move on already. We have enough talent to take care of this problem till Pitta gets back.
Should we sign Shiancoe? I have no idea, but I'm sure Ozzie knows if hes better than what we have so I'll just let him decide.

Sorry for another post... We won't need Pitta in Denver. Manning will be on his butt all Thursday night. Our defensive line is terrifying and I wouldn't be surprised to watch Manning get carted off the field...

Couldn't agree more. Would just add that we also drafted Juice who can be effective in the passing game. We have weapons and most importantly we have an awesome QB. Flacco will find the open man whomever that may be.

Pitta will only be out 1 or 2, maybe 3 games. We can live without him for that time period. He's important but he's not Calvin Johnson important, his absence won't totally screw us over. Besides, Dickson is pretty good, Juice can play as a TE if need be, and this will give Furstenberg a real chance to step up his game. We still have a beast in Torrey Smith, Jacoby is reliable. And I have a feeling maybe someone like Doss or Streeter are going to light it up this year.

I am not sure how severe this particular hip injury is, but they described it as serious. These post I see act as if he'll be back after the bye week. I'm not sure he'll play this season at all or how this will affect the rest of his career. I could care less about who replaces him, I just hope we get some good news soon.
