Jeremy Maclin injured, torn ACL/MCL

23 posts in this topic

It seems this off-season receivers have been the target. First Crabtree, then Harvin and today Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin was carted off the field with a leg injury.

Via multiple reports, Maclin suffered an injury during Eagles practice that has left him on the ground and, as Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com puts it, “writhing in pain.”  Maclin was carted off the field.

Per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the situation “[d]oes not look good."

Major Update: Maclin tore his right ACL and MCL, most likely out for the season.

Maclin has so much potential... between the frustrating team he's on with their mess at the QB spot, along with these darned injuries, his career has been an unfortunate one. He definitely could be/could have been a stud if everything worked out for him.

PHI just took a MAJOR step back.

Yep, this will mean Maclin is out for the year. Not confirmed but it doesn't have to be if you know you tore both your ACL and MCL. Bad part is they still don't know who their quarterback is.

Oh no! That's horrible

In good WR news, it turns out Harvin will probably NOT need season-ending surgery for his hip.

You have to think if the Eagles finish with a bad enough record, Marquis Lee would have to be heavily considered to be their first round pick in 2014.

Now because you said that, something will happen to him that will force him to have surgery.

It helps that JAC, their main #1 pick contender, is stacked at WR.

It also hurts them that the other contender Oakland has nothing at WR.

According to Rotoworld, this will move Riley Cooper into the starting line up as his replacement.

Just think..... if we still had Boldin we could have gotten a high round pick from a desperate Eagles team looking to replace Maclin.

NO QB, no Hey-Bey, no Brandon Myers... yeah, OAK will probaby have the worst passing offense in the NFL, definitely in the AFC.

Does this help McCoy and Bryce Brown's Fantasy value or hurt it?  On the one hand, PHI wil be more handicapped at WR and thus will depend more on the run.  On the other side of the coin, opposing Ds wil know this and thus be prepared for a primarly ground-game offense.

may be an interesting value pick up for us.

Depending on how our receiving corps shakes out this year he could be incredible value on a cheap prove yourself type of deal. We're probably getting way ahead of ourselves though.

Yeah.  I wanted the Ravens to draft Maclin back in 2009.

Did the name change work out fine?

A charger I think

They lost Melvin Ingram during Mini Camp and then they lost LB Jonas Moutin yesterday.
