Yahoo Fantasy League Draft Date

So there was no clear way to decide between Saturday August 17th and Sunday the 18th, therefore I made a new poll for you guys to choose which day works better for you.

FYI,  I just realized that the Ravens free M&T practice is on Sunday the 11th.  Gates open at 3:30.  Not sure who else is going.

 

Luckily, that dates seems to be getting the most vote for 'no' right now.

I don't foresee any conflicts with any of the proposed times.  I believe Yahoo lets you draft on their mobile app, so I should be there either way.

This is great news.  Sounds like they just released this information a couple of days ago.  Last year you could not draft on the mobile app.

I'll try a mock later but it looks like that will work. It supposedly has chat and everything. After all it's not really a Draft if you can't trash talk.

I already tried it and it works great, the only issue I may have to try is if my drafts overlap lol

I'm an idiot.  Not that it's making a difference, but I checked off the 10th and 11th, thinking I was busy, but it turns out what I thought I had to do that weekend was actually the next Sunday (18th) which I also checked off.  So I made a mistake, but it looks like the 17th will win anyway.

 

When will voting close?  How will you know when everyone has chimed in?

I gave it a go too and it works a lot better than I expected.  I'd still prefer to do it with my numbers up on my other monitor, but it would definitely be an acceptable substitute if necessary.

Maybe. We could do it earlier, but I doubt that makes a difference.

This is true (Also because I prefer Sunday).  I can draft Saturday,  I'll just have to hit up a Starbucks @ Penn State since I'll be visiting my wife's parents.

I'm just trying to keep the peace.  Having a run off between the 17 and both times on the 18 allows the league to select the best time from the three that tied for most availability.  It seemed logical at the time...

The real problem is the day not the time. People who selected Sunday either have work or a life on Saturday. Gabe apparently has neither going for him that particular Saturday, and given that he organized the league, made the decision that was most convenient for him which he can do (no insult intended, but you obviously have nothing going on that night if you are choosing to draft on it). Changing the time likely wont make much of a difference. I would like to see a revote given 3 options tied consisting of only those 3 options, but theres no money on the line in this so its not like it really matters. If someone autodrafts a bad team because they couldnt draft their own team, then they will likely just go inactive barring the team doing well enough to compete (its possible but unlikely with an autodraft)

You are free to leave if you want. No one is forcing you to take part in the league. I guess I should have stipulated there was no whining allowed earlier.

Like I said theres no money on the line so I don't really care. However, if nothing is on the line and people are forced to autodraft a terrible team, there is no reason for them to stay active in the league either after about a month. Those are the breaks. It happened in ATD's league last year with about a 1/4th of the teams. There is no time/day that works for everyone. If you want to hold the draft on a Saturday night because its convenient for you then do it. Its your league. Im just explaining that the issue isnt the time rather the day, and offered up a more democratic solution than LM overrules all.

I am chill and i already voted in the revised poll, but Gabe is taking this as if Im personally attacking him which Im not.

When you imply that he's using his power as commish to pick a time that is best for him and not taking everyone else into account, I could see why he'd take it as a personal jab at him lol

 

The time he'd originally setup it up for was one that had tied with a few other's that were all on the same weekend, so I can see how he would have thought that the specific time wouldn't have mattered and just pick one (which coincidently is the time that had been set from the beginning).

Do you not get the concept that people will miss out any way you cut it? There is no date that everyone can attend. Simple concepts here.
