Serious Qb Issue!

4 posts in this topic

As we all know McNabb is coming off of a huge week against the cardinals. But he has a very tough match up against the playoff bound giants this week. Flacco is also coming off of a huge week with a career high 280 passing yards. But my issue is who to start this week I'm leaning towards McNabb but Flacco also seems like a logical choice. Who would you start?

If ever you're undecided, you ALWAYS play the matchup. Personally, I'd shy away from either QB, but in this case, Flacco has a more favorable matchup against the Redskins than McNabb against the Giants.

Though the Redskins have a better pass defense (7th) than the Giants (10th), the Giants have allowed fewer points scored (206) than the Redskins (222). The Redskins may have depth at defensive back, but their pass rush isn't as aggressive as the Giants' (though still respectable in its own right), so Flacco may fare better than McNabb.

Bottom line, you have to consider, which defense does a better job of rattling the QB: the Giants or the Redskins? Personally, I think the Giants do a better job, which crosses McNabb off your list and thrusts Flacco into your starting lineup, for better or worse.

I can't believe I'm about to say this. Start Flacco over McNabb. McNabb has to face a tough phyiscal DL of the Giants. We were able to get pressure on McNabb, so the Giants will too. They will cause turnovers.

Flacco on the other hand might actually have a decent game in my eyes. Redskins pass defense was good, but they've been dying over the last few weeks. But the main key is, the Skins can't get pressure on the QB lately and are decent at stopping the run. I see this as a great opportunity for Flacco.

But like Franchise stated, neither are extremely appealing. I'd probably start Shaun Hill over those two if I had the chance.
