The Black Jersey/White Pants combo is pretty badass

I like this combo, I could see us adopting this as our new away or home uniforms next year. Sprinkle the purple jersey in 2-3 times a year and we'll have a good thing going. I think Sunday night the Black/White setup (if we win) is gonna make us look like we're one of the upper echelon teams in the NFL and that the Baltimore Ravens need to be seriously included in conversations about legitimate contenders in the AFC. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I had to describe this uniform combo in one word, it would be: Proffessional. Makes us look like we're for real (which we are).

I look at the black/white like this: New team, new coaches, new attitude, better O etc. Why not start a new tradition with the black/white? Personally I like black/black too. However, that scheme represents the old Ravens. Lets start a new tradition with new colors. All the changes made this year have been for the better. Go RAVENS!

Black/White we are going to look like the Ref's, maybe we will not get as many flags! I do not know about this combo, I would rather see all black on the PitchBlack Allstar's aka the Baltimore Raven's. It really does not matter, at the end of the night a win is what really matter's.

I am pretty sure we can;t wear them.

Teams have to put in requests to the NFL before season start son what color jerseys they will wear. From what I have heard - Ravens only put in for Purple & white jerseys.

black jersey white paints. thats ugly. just like the eagles alternates. makes the team look colorless...lifeless...white and black...sucks. you will notice the skins red on the field but the other team will just be black n white=boring. i dont like the away jerseys this yr either, look just like the crappy jags away jerseys but at least we wore black socks. why cant we just wear ravens purple, when you see that you know its the ravens and notice them more. the all black is awesome, the best uniforms ive seen. this yrs jerseys suck...except when we wear purple which is not as much as normal this yr.

Personally I like all the jersey choices so far this year I love the white and black road jersey combo and I think that these uniforms, like the new regime, signal change for the organization and I like it. I can't wait to see the black and white combination I think its going to look great.

Statistically, we play well 50% of the time in all black. The Ravens are 3-3 in those uniforms.

Secondly, for those pining for a return to all black, it ain't gonna happen on Harbaugh's watch:

Thirdly, I'd say that the team's performance on the field determines their image in the eyes of the nation - not what colored uniform they're wearing. I'd take a win if they were wearing pink tu-tus and yellow vests, provided they kicked the Redskins' butts.

Although I do agree that Pitch Black poster they brought out in '04 was very cool.

but cant he just leave the jerseys alone
pitch black jerseys are probably the best jerseys in the NFL

We need to let him know the fans love the black jerseys and that shouldn't change. He should be able to coach just as good despite the jersey colors. As a player I play harder depending on how I look, I get more confident. All my friends who aren't Raven fans think the all black are coolest next to the Chargers baby blue.

How great if he left us all week thinking we were going black and white. Then on game day we see the Ravens in all black. I would go crazy and make me that much more prideful to be a Ravens fan.

Jerseys don't matter the all blacks are dead, just like the old regime. Yeah they looked cool but we haven't won a game in 3 yrs in those things to me they bring back bad memories and just like the white road jerseys are out so are the all blacks. You'll take your black and whites and you'll like it. I like the fact that a team playing like we've never seen before is wearing uniforms that we've never seen before.

Maybe it's more of a psychological thing with the all black uni's. I'm sure the players as well as the coaches are aware we haven't won a single game with them in the last 3 years (0-7). Maybe new uniforms will give the players more of a sense that this is a new team, a different team, with a different approach to things, and the past records or superstitions can't affect where they want to go in the future. Subconsciously I think the Black/White Uni's might give the team a little more confidence bcuz it symbolizes a fresh start and a clean slate to a new beginning.

or maybe it's not that deep and it's really as simple as Harbaugh doesn't like the way they look??

My most recent memories of the black on black uniform combo's aren't good ones. There was a monday night game vs. the Chiefs we lost, the Pats game last year, that one season opener to the Colts I am pretty excited to see this new combo.

Not sure where you got that stat - The Ravens last won a game in them against Buffalo in last game of the 2006 season. They're 3-3 overall in the black unis.

When I think all black uni's I think Sunday Night/Monday Night games. What I meant was the Ravens haven't won a primetime game since 2005 (0-7) I got to complicated and mixed the 2 up.

I doubt Harbaugh doesn't want our guys to have fun, but first and formost I am sure he wants the Ravens to be professional and maintain their integrity and composure as a team. Football may be a game, but these guys make in salary in one season what many of us wouldn't earn in a lifetime, so I am sure he wants the guys to be focused and professional first, and sacrifice individual egos for the sake of TEAM.

In a general reply to this thread...I think the all black unis are great...if it helps us to have all of the above, with a little swagger and intenstiy, I am all for it. But if we go in thinking like the "Bad Boys of Baltimore", and throw our composure and integrity out (like we did against the Pats on primetime, throwing flags, etc.), I am strongly against it. If being "Bad" means being tough, hard nosed, in your face...yet composed and professional...then I say go for it with the black unis. After all, the real Raven is all black, right???

But maybe what I said before is some of what Harbaugh is thinking...who knows???
