Yea that's tough. It's like the Kindle situation. If doctors would have left it up to him that guy would have been back playing football. But while players just want to do what they love, doctors gotta make sure they are healthy for much more then just a football game. It's tough to because you really can't control a spinal injury the way you can rehab a knee or something.

So it might be as much about rest for McClain then anything else and with him basically fighting to be on this team, rest might help his healthy, but it won't help his status on this team.

I feel bad for the guy.  I still think he could be a good rotational player for this team.  But like you said, this likely opens up a spot for one of Hall or Carr if McClain isn't able to come back.  Smith, Brown, Bynes, and McClellan all seem likely to make the team.

Well that's a good sign.  Didn't even check the Ravens' Twitter.

I heard Hamilton is fine and it was really minor.

Obviously, KLM was expected.  Yanda isn't much of a concern to me at least.  McClain is the only guy I'm worried about, especially since he keeps saying he's healthy while doctors are saying otherwise.

I'd rather see Daryl and Arthur out there. We're pretty well stacked at inside linebacker. Jameel, Arthur, Daryl, Bryan. I'd be okay with any of these guys starting.

I saw a report of Rashaad Carter getting a lot of passes from Flacco today.. I know it's early but I think I will keep an eye on him.

BTW he's #18.

A spinal injury is much too serious, a doctor could jeopardize his/her own career by signing him back too soon.

It may be early but these 3 days or so are really huge for guys like Mellette, Brown and Carter, for all the young guys honestly, because they probably won't get many reps with Joe once the vets come in.

When are the individual practice times throughout training camp? I know the public ones, but when are the daily practices? I can't remember when they were last year. Due to the heat, weren't a lot of them late in the evenings? In other words, what's the schedule for this year's training camp?

Starting tomorrow, they practice almost every day. When at the castle, practices are at 2:30. That's all I know. I'm not sure they publish a detailed schedule.

no updates today they canceled practice Baltimore Ravens ‏@Ravens

#Ravens have canceled Wednesday's practice with QBs, rookies and injured vets. Will practice tomorrow.

Not that they need to publish a reason or it will have any impact but I'm curious to it. It could be a variety of reasons. Field conditions not right, felt inside work was more pressing than outside, Bisciotti was using field for his tan, didn't want to split personnel between subsets of team, give players extra rest and time to acclimate, saw Rex Ryan sneaking around the woods with a pair of binoculars, etc, etc

Not sure what's the reason behind the reason if that makes sense, but Practice was cancelled and Harbs took the rookies and younger players on a team building trip.

Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider 4h

Ravens canceled practice today and are holding a team building exercise, per the team

So i don't know if practice was cancelled because of this team building exercise or are they having a team building excise because practice was cancelled for some reason and Harbs just didn't want idle time.

Someone posted a picture of Harbaugh and the team at Gettysburg, so I'm assuming this team building trip was sort of like Remember the Titans (without the obvious issue from the movie). :)

With most of the vets having to take their conditioning tests today, it was probably too hard to run a practice, too. A team-building exercise seems like a good way to use the time.

Understand what you're saying but it's probably what Mod3 said, too taxing to run conditioning tests then a team practice.

I wonder if team building involves the multi-color parachute from gym class, maybe duck-duck-goose? Jokes aside, you can be sure Harbaugh is keeping them engaged at all times. Chemistry is important to him.

I don't think it necessarily has something to do with Carter being Joe's fav target out there, even if finding a diamond in the rough among UDFA would be sweet. Elam struggled to cover Rashaad properly. I can see Joe giving the rookies some taste of what waits for them on the NFL level and specifically targeting them as weakpoints in the defense.

They're in Gettysburg. I have to believe that's a very powerful trip for all of them. I went to Gettysburg last year, and I literally cried when one of the guides went into a "listen to the echoes, the cries of young men screaming for their mothers." Oh, that was so powerful.

That's awesome and classic Harbaugh. Gettysburg is a place that will give you great perspective and appreciation for things outside of the material life.

I could see that. Maybe the guys has a really strong couple of practices and this was Harbs reward in a way. Knowing that once the Vets show up that days off will be limited. The whole team building exercise is probably something that Harbs wanted to use to really give the young players a taste of what it means to be apart of this Ravens organization. Probably a way of saying the 2012 team is history, what they did is something the 2013 Ravens have to accomplish. No living in the past. Knowing Harbs it'll probably be a series of motivational video, or a guest speaker or two.

Harbs pulled a Herman Boone

Left side....Strong side. Left side...strong side. Naw seriously, I just read the article on the front page, I think it was a great thing Harbs did.

I was checking out the photo album from the trip to Gettysburg, and one thing stood out to me: Arthur Brown is at the front of almost every picture.  I think that shows a lot about his willingness to learn.  I don't really know why that stood out to me, but I think we got another high character guy.

Or maybe he just likes being in pictures...

I can't say how and I'm sure I'll have doubters but I've personally met Arthur Brown and I definitely agree and believe that it's the former and not the latter.

I thought it interesting that Flacco went because I'm sure he wasn't required to go.

Maybe he wanted to walk the same hallowed ground?

If you get CSN they have a "Training Camp Daily" report at 7:00. You have to put up with the RGIII updates, but there's a lot of Ravens talk. They've already had Suggs on, wearing an O's hat.

I don't like when they have Redskins guys talking about the Ravens. Those guys don't know the inner workings of these team and just sound like the same recycled crap we here from the National Media.
