I'm really rooting for Bryan Hall

Second from the left.  That's absolutely ridiculous.  To go from a 300 lb. lineman to that is just incredible.  It really shows how much he cares about the game, and what lengths he was willing to go to in order to help the team.  This guy deserves every opportunity to get a spot on this team.

Same here man, he looks really good. He will come in handy when we are expecting the run and we send him up close to the line of scrimmage.

Yea when I heard he was going to do that position switch, I had no idea how he would be able to do that. Just goes to show you what determination can do, hopefully he will play well at linebacker, but you have to be happy with his ability to drop that much weight.

Thats the kind of effort it takes to beat top drafted players to become a starter in NFL. Props to Bryan keeping his work ethic up to the task.

That's why I was looking for your LB: Who stays/goes thread. What's he tipping the scales at now?

Like BallHawker, I'm rooting for all these guys

Last I heard he was around 260. lost 40 pounds to go from DT to MLB, very impressive

He looks fantastic. I do have to wonder if he's using the hgh.

Hgh really won't help you lean out better then just hard work.  If your nutrition is right and you're doing high intensity cardio you'll shed the weight.

Wow that's crazy! He looks jacked. I'm really especially rooting him for him too. I dont see players make that kind of transformation in only 1 offseason that often, I love it

Could not agree more with you! I feel for one to lose that much weight on the coach's request, just displays the kind of discipline, dedication and effort you need to put forth. All those qualities make for an exceptional football player too! So, yes I believe he deserves a spot on the roster.

My jaw dropped when I saw the picture. I heard about the progress but I guess it never really hit me what losing 40 pounds looks like on someone who was athletic to begin with.

Yea, I think we're all rooting for everyone, but that's a serious life transformation to make. He did exactly what the team asked him to all in hopes that he could contribute better to his team - our team - the Ravens.

Hats off to you Bryan Hall, step 1 completed. Now go apply that same intensity to learning your new position and earn yourself some reps. May the best men play.

Lol, I was joking. It seems people can't take a joke around here. Hence "The hgh".

Yeah, Hall is looking good. I'd have to see him play first, but I think he'll be making the team.

Off topic, but Upshaw looks like he's in much better shape in that picture. Can't see much, but he looks like he did last season, and better than those few pictures we saw of him when he was overweight.

He has shown a lot of dedication to lose all that weight and be in that great of shape. But IDK if he was going to make the team. I figured the MLB we keep would be Brown, McClain, Smith, Bynes, McLellan. But I looked at Halls pro day and I'm shocked how athletic he was at 295. It will be interesting with his athletic ability at his new weight.

McClain and McClellan being hurt really helps his chances.

yeah that will definetly help him. He should be an above average athlete for a 250+ thumper, plus with him playing DT taking up blocks for a guy like Arthur Brown will be a piece of cake. Im real excited to see him now.

Well, when it comes down to it, it is not how he looks, but how he plays.

Oh yeah absolutely.  I just think it's impressive that he's come this far.  I really wouldn't have expected him to that fit.

Here are the numbers I was telling you about http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=74947&draftyear=2011&genpos=DT

Bryan Hall

40 time: 4.86

20 time: 2.79

10 time: 1.72

Vertical: 30.5

20 yard shuttle:4.19

3 cone drill:7.76

broad jump: 9"2

Those numbers are on par or better then almost any 1st round DT who was in the 295 pound  range. His 20 yard shuttle is better then even Arthur Browns. All while being 295 pounds with extra weight on him. It will be real interesting when he starts getting a feel for the LB position.

Those numbers are really impressive. I've been excited about him since last year's preseason game against the Rams when I see him playing LB. Lol. I remember thinking then he moved well for a big guy.

He's definitely a sleeper.

Compare Hall at 295 to other 34 ILB thumpers pre draft numbers. I am focusing on 10 yard dash, broad jump and 20 yard shuttle since I feel these are the most important for his role as a 2 down thumper.

Kevin Minter- 246

10 yard dash- 1.63

20 yard shuttle- 4.49

broard jump- 9"06

Manti Teo- 241 (weighed in less then his usual playing weight)

10 yard dash- 1.64
20 yard shuttle- 4.27
broad jump- 9"05

Brandon Spikes- 249

10 yard dash- 1.75
20 yard shuttle- N/A

broad jump- 9"03

Rolando McClain- 249
10 yard dash- 1.62
20 yard shuttle- 4.38
broad jump- 9"01

Its clear that Hall put up #s similar is not better then some of the most recent elite 34 thumper prospects. All weighing 40 plus pounds more then them. At first I thought him moving to ILB was just a last attempt to get one of harbs favorites onto the team next year but now I think this maybe a real good move. He has to play but it seems like he is a really good sleeper project.

Those are very impressive especially when compared against what Hall did at a heavier weight. That makes me wonder how he'll do at a lower weight.

I do have to ask: you aren't Bryan Hall are you? Lol. You seem very knowledgeable about him

lol fair enough. He's very impressive. He's one of the guys I'm most excited to see. He really impressed me with the way he moved as a DT playing LB last year.

What people have to remember is that B Hall was a LB coming out of HS. Then was moved to DT in college as a undersized but quick player. He's more of an athlete then a technician. He should do a pretty good job at ILB being behind the big guys upfront instead of being one of those guys.

I'll definitely be keeping a eye on him this year.
