Update: Von Miller Suspended 6 Games for violating drug policy!

209 posts in this topic

Broncos defense will be real thin come the season opener. With Miller definitely out, Derek Wolfe's injury and Champ Bailey and DRC hurt in the secondary, they're gonna have some big holes to fill come opening night.

One of the Mods should update the title, since it's been extended to 6 games now.

As soon as the official announcement comes out. Right now it's still leaks and rumors.

Yeah, I read an article articulating just that.  They've got a lot of worries concerning their front 7.

When we play Denver our DL needs to show up. If not Manning will run the ball down our throat until we choke.

Pretty much. With the Denver defense being banged up, Miller gone for a good portion of the season, as long as our D shows up we should be good. If our D shows up and contains Peyton while Joe does what he did in the playoff game, we should win the game.

It's like that kid that misspelled 'Emancipation Proclamation' in the Final Jeopardy round last month.

So close yet so far.

This incident reminds me of another steroids incident (in Denver, nonetheless) where DJ Williams kept handing testers synthetic/non-human urine. He had some sort of container he was carrying it in and was trying to hide it before it fell out of his pocket right in front of the testers LOL. Yet, because testers aren't allowed into the lockerroom, Williams kicked it there and it was never seen again.

In their 2nd preseason game, Denver's offense looked just as inept as the Ravens did. Should be an interesting game.

What we need to do is make sure the play action pass is working with a robust running game. The way you beat Manning is keep him off the field for a good amount of time. Otherwise he will keep scoring or finding ways to score. We need to defend the run and Manning's play action and make him one dimensional to assure ourselves of a 'W' come Sep 5th!

They just said on NFL Total Access that the appeal has not even been scheduled yet and this suspension is for a diluted sample.

ESPN said that after talking to the union, Miller wasn't planning on appealing. He was just hoping for a reduction to four games.

Its so disrespectful for us to have to open on the road as defending champs especially against Denver.

We can thank the Baltimore Orioles for that.  They coerced the Ravens to accept a road game Sep 5th so that it wouldn't detract from their own home game.  Because an Orioles home game>NFL Kickoff, apparently...

Wow, Miller's potential suspension just keeps snowballing!  Apparently, it will now be "at least" 6 games!

The Orioles will be held in contempt for that very reason for a long time to come. I cannot wait for the day when the Ravens can return the favor. But, unfortunately Steve Bisciotti is a very classy man vs the snake Peter Angelos!

A six-game suspension for Von Miller is now official, for violating the league's substance abuse policy.  Via many sources, including Schefter.

Denver isn't worried.. Supposedly Peyton Manning can make up for their nonexistent pass rush

That's sad. I want the Ravens to beat the best possible Broncos team and not one that is running on fumes.

Nah.  Don't really care with who they line up.  I'll take the W any way possible.

Sorry to make the same post a second time. I wonder how that may or may not change John Fox's approach given that the team "hadn't heard" about a suspension. They probably have not been giving his replacement first team reps. Not sure if that plays into the grand scheme of things but that'll be interesting.

I just hope that Oher is on his A+ game...him and BMac. We have no clue if they have a guy waiting to show the NFL world what he can do so I wouldn't be so quick to think there won't be any pass rush at all

Yea.....No.   They'll muster up a pass rush but it won't be as lethal as Von Miller and Dumervil.  Von Miller is probably the best pass rusher in the game right now.  There isn't anyone waiting in the wings that can replace that.  Philips and Ayers will probably be the guys.

A lot of their fans see this as a blessing in disguise.  They aren't too worried about losing games because of it.  I think 4 of their first 6 games are at home.  But many of their fans see themselves getting a fresh Von Miller to reek havoc in the middle of the season.

In fairness, we already did that, but I get your point.
