Update: Von Miller Suspended 6 Games for violating drug policy!

209 posts in this topic

This is surprising to say the least. However, how does this now impact the Broncos game with both Doom and Von Miller missing? Will Flacco tear them up again? Comment.

P.S: I understand that Von intends to contest it, and who knows - the NFL may rescind the suspension for purposes other than fairness....

Usually I'd say this isn't a ravens topic. but considering the degree to which it affects our season opener I think this can stay.

That's a kick for Denver if he's suspended... Lets hope we don't have any dirty guys in our camp!

Let's hope none of our guys get caught.

That's bad news for Denver. I wonder how this will affect them. They're a good team but losing both Dumervil and Miller is kind of a big deal.

Maybe Goodell did this to compensate us for the lack of a home opener? I bet black Helicopters are flying in Denver.

We'll see where this goes. If it stays directly Ravens-related, it will stay. If it becomes more generalized, it gets moved. We generally reserve Ravens Talk for threads on our own players.

Didn't see this thread lol.
Don't get cocky yet. Phillips is still a good pass rusher

So is Wolfe and Williams.

No Miller, but they have talented rushers still.

This is huge, but we will meet in the playoffs if we make it (not jinxing anything)

This just in: Peyton "crybaby" Manning suspended for entire year for using HGH. This drug has been in his system his entire career. He stops usage of it in the playoffs to be on the safe side, which could be linked to why he stinks when it comes playoff time.

LOL I wish.

I'd rather we play Manning. I know he's good but I have no idea what to expect from Osweiler. That can be dangerous.

My intention of posting it was based on the direct impact it may have on our first game at title defense! After all, we didn't even get a home opener thanks to the Orioles right?

I'll take any advantage I can get and spin it into a Ravens topic!

Nah. The crybaby is Brady ;)

Bmac and Oher aren't going to know what to do with themselves

Their fax machine(again, who uses a fax machine in 2013?) cost them Dumervil to us, and now they may lose Miller to a failed drug test. Their pass rush will be non existent.

Our opener just got more interesting.

Oh god

Will they both pull a Zerbie Sanders and both just stand there?

Doesn't matter. There wouldn't be any pass rush to come for Flacco

Believe john abraham is still available. They still have plenty of time to bring someone like this in so I wouldn't be too excited for that opener. I expect this game to say a lot about the state of our defense vs manning w/o lewis playing chess on the other side.

Well yeah. They will need to get creative but I won't yet say their pass rush will struggle even though I did earlier to an extent lol. They do have talent as Irrelevant said. Wolfe is a goodb player but he'll have s lot on his plate without Dumervil and Miller. I can see them sign John Abraham now. I think they'll need to do something because we are typically our best early in the year.

They still have some good LB. Perhaps they'll do more DB blitzes.

Lol we had the same thought here. Nicer. Yeah I can definitely see then bringing in Abraham. Do they have the money?

Yeah, I'd hate to see a "Kaepernick" pulled off against us. Osweiler has a ton of potential.

Or even Kirk Cousins.

Well the Broncos certainly become less of a threat without their best player, that being said it is still a fresh Mannning and a boosted WR corps and Secondary. We need to be ready.

Or even Kirk Cousins.

Cousins pulled off what he did mostly due to the fact that he's a much different style QB than RG3 is. We prepared for RG's style of play, not Cousins'. Don't get me wrong, he's a solid Qb, but if we had time to prepare for him during the week, I think we would've pulled it off against him. Getting "Cousined" means having a backup Qb, different in style from the starting QB, absolutely blow up during the same game the starter played in but left with an injury. That leaves you with no time to prep. Getting Kaepernicked is knowing whats coming, but still being powerless to stop it because he's much better than you ever could imagine him being.

We don't have Cary "20 yards off his man" Williams anymore.

Not a problem anymore

Manning is going to be on fire this season, especially with the master receiver of dink-and-dunking, Wes Welker, at his disposal. Manning knows his window of opportunity at another Super Bowl is closing fast. In fact, I've heard some say this is his last good shot at winning it all again.

Someone on the CBSSports message board said the local Denver radio stations are saying the suspension is for weed. It's all just speculation right now though.

Shouldn't this be in the off topic section?  Eh, I'm not a mod so don't mind me!  Bad news for Donkeys, good news for the Ravens.

Especially this season bro. His time is running out. I know there are a wave of cheers going around but this means little. Peyton is gonna play the hardest he has in his career and like I said despite Von being gone that secondary is straight up dangerous with the cheap addition of Rodger-cromartie. I hope no one on the Ravens is taking opening day as anything less than what it is. A huge title defense against the best team in the AFC.
