Marylander's Miraculous Rescue Mission!

4 posts in this topic

Maryland's own John Franklin Riggs swam 5 hours in the middle of a storm after his boat capsized got capsized by the tempest, off the coast of Deal Island.  He then climbed the rocky shore and ran to the nearest house, belonging to Angela Byrd.  Thanks to Riggs' Herculean efforts and Byrd's compassion, 3 lives were saved: a mother, Contessa Riggs, and her 3-year old son, Conrad Drake, a 9-year old, Emily Horn, and a 70-year old man, John Riggs.  Kudos to Maryland's hometown hero!  Michael Phelps has nothing on you!

Fight or flight. Great story! I have heard similar heroic stories, and they fascinate me. I know that a lot of that is adrenaline, but it's still great when you read about those people!
