Spambot Users

I would suggest that you look out for spambot-generated users, if possible.  I've noticed several in the past couple months, most recently a Poker-themed one that popped up today.  I don't know the technical capabilities that the site has to deal with such an influx.

Well, there's "newspokerblog" for starters, our most recent Member.

Okay he's flagged. We're very diligent about these guys but he had only signed up a couple of hours ago and had not posted anything.

The software is such that if a SN or IP is flagged on one of Invisions

 

sites, it will be flagged on the entire network.  That is also why we require all new users to be on preview for the first 15 post, plus a couple of other tricks.

More likely just unaware that posting your email address on the internet is not a good idea.

Again the software catches these guys and they can't post sometimes there are upwards of 200 a day but you know nothing about it . When they do get through they are a human usually in Asia somewhere. People that are banned and try to get through one too many times are treated the same as spammers along the whole Invision network also.

There should be a report to moderator button on the post - in the same area where you would click to quote someone.

Oh and there is no button when you view an article from the main page.  You have to be in forum view

When on the main page, just click on the time the post was made and the button will magically appear at the bottom of the post.

Please use the report a post to a moderator I have my phone tied into the report system so I can log on pretty quick and I know other mods and admins do also. Invision did some tweeking to tighten things down. Unfortunately those work at home spammers are cut and paste humans
