Throughout the offseason, I will be detailing each position.  I will list each player at the position with a small write-up to give some general information.  Today, courtesy of random.org, CB takes the #1 slot.  To pick the number of players, I will go off of the Ravens "standard."  The standard in this case is 6 CB's to make the roster.  So please, when answering the poll, choose six names that you think will make the team.

Without further ado, here are the candidates:

1. Lardarius Webb (27):  Webb has been our best corner over the past couple of years.  Unfortunately, he's had some bad luck in tearing his ACL twice in his short career.  The question here isn't talent.  It's whether he can stay healthy.  Regardless, he's penciled in for a spot.

2. Jimmy Smith (24): Jimmy has been marked by inconsistency in his career.  The double move still kills him.  However, the reports from OTAs have been really encouraging.  Word is that he's in shape, and is in a much better place both physically and mentally.  He's also penciled in.

3.  Corey Graham (27): Graham came out of nowhere last year and is a huge reason why the Lombardi resides in Baltimore.  His best fit is in the slot, but that doesn't mean he won't see the field.  He, along with Webb and Jimmy, is a guarantee for the roster.

4.  Chykie Brown (26):  Brown made a pretty big leap last year and played fairly well considering his lack of experience.  He's done very well again this offseason, and word is that he's likely to end up the 4th or 5th CB on the roster.

5.  Chris Johnson (33): Johnson is the other candidate for the 4th or 5th spot, according to reports.  The coaches love his experience, leadership, and play on the field.  He's one of the few veterans on this team, and is actually tied for the oldest at 33.

6.  Asa Jackson (23): Asa is a draft pick from last year that saw very little playing time.  He served a suspension for drugs.  However, he excelled in the preseason at a PR, and played quite a bit at gunner when he was active.  ST is his way onto this team.

7.  Marc Anthony (23):  Anthony is one of our 7th round picks from this year.  He's a big bodied corner who has the physical traits to excel in the NFL.  However, a poor 40 time dropped him, and there are concerns whether he can keep up with today's WRs.  His way onto the team is also through ST, which he played a lot of in college.

8.  Moe Lee (23):  Lee has been one of the UDFA surprises of OTAs.  Reports indicate that he's done very well and that the team is very excited for his future.  Like Anthony, he also lacks speed, and many feel that S may be his long-term position.  While he's a good player, there's a lot of talent he'd have to overtake to earn a spot on the team.

voted 1-6 in, though we recently kept our draft picks on the roster, depends on how well MA performs at training camp, maybe forcing Johnson to be cut

Just curious, how accurate were you on this last year? I agree with 1-7. I like these btw. It worked for us last year ;)

I think as a whole, we got 4 wrong, and 1 was because of injury.  Really just something to kill some time in the offseason, but it is interesting to see how close we get.

Its tough to see the Ravens cutting ties with a draft pick (no matter what round) before the season starts.  I see Marc Anthony making the team (unless he has a horrendous showing).  This might just push Asa out, especially with the suspension.  Chris Johnson showed some stability at the end of last season.

I'm thinking that 1-5, and 7, make it. I don't see Asa making the team to be honest. The suspension will likely put him in Harbaugh's doghouse, which will make it extremely hard for him to make the team since he already was a player who was on the bubble. Add to it that we drafted Marc Anthony, and Chris Johnson actually becoming more stable as the season progressed last year, and I don't see us keeping Jackson around.

I hope I was wrong in my initial apprehension about Chykie Brown.  Anyone remember the Thread I made about him last week?  The general consensus was that he's still very raw, but has a lot of potential in the pass defense game.  I was a little worried about his penalty problems last season, too.

So do you guys who think Jackson could get cut because of his suspension also think Thompson could as well? I know we have better depth at CB then safety but I can't see us parting ways with him just because of that.

Yes... But Jackson could be a solid return man in the future tho. Thompson has a better chance of getting cut

Anyone have any advanced info on Asa? Like zone awareness, hip movement, press ability, and ball skills. I have Moe Lee making the team and Marc Anthony on the practice squad leaving Asa out in the cold, but its more that I don't know as much about him as I do them.
