What Are You Listening To?

I got Spotify on my Mac because of a friends suggestion. I love how you can find music to get a certain mood or feeling. I associate music through mood, colors, and feelings so this awesome for me.

I found some bands that I think some people who like prog rock, jazz, or prog metal

God Is An Astronaut

- this band is sound like if Aliens came down and showed us their proggy music

just found a new band called Red Sparowes

listening to their song In Illusions of Order

sound a little like Intronaut

Nice suggestion. Intronaut is great! I think that genre of music is pretty easy to play, so there are a good amount of bands who sound okay but just miss the mark, or get boring quick.

Aaron O'Keefe.  You ever get a chance, check out his channel on YouTube, he orchestrates some great classic rock & metal music with children playing instruments & singing.  Nice to see the arts aren't dead in some places.

My friends band, Foxing, made it onto the front page of MTVs website today under "our fave videos". Seriously go check out their video for their song Rory, they're really good and getting more well known.

"Different Worlds" - the single version, as performed by Maureen McGovern.  Written by the duo of Gimble and Fox, it was the theme song for the sitcom, "Angie" - which is a show that should have been a hit.

There should probably be some Alice in Chains in there, it's good music for when you're feeling depressed.

Device feat. Lzzy Hale - Close My Eyes Forever

So much better than the original.  Lita Ford is a bad singer.

Must be one of those indie bands. :P

Been around less than a year. Rare concerts, but when they wail, they really wail.

Oh, it's one of THOSE bands... the kind you can't understand a word they're saying and because their so against selling out to the man, they only play one venue.  Figures.  Burn me a copy of their CD sometime. :D

Astral stereo Project - "Bess Motta".  The song is inspired by fitness star Bess Motta, of ":20 Minute Workout" fame.

You may have to look it up for your self, everyone.

Been really enjoying Toro Y Moi's 2013 album "Anything in Return" lately. Great "chillwave" indie album.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I'm patiently awaiting the new album "From Parts Unknown" from the rocking party animals in Every Time I Die that comes out in July.
