If they get Howard they'll be my pick to win it all.

However, at this point they will have to give up some guys to get him because they can only get him via a sign-and-trade. The Lakers most likely won't give him up without getting at least Barnes or Thompson back in addition to the other guys (Bogut, Lee, etc.) that they would be getting back.

I looks like its a sure thing, but it could just be a case of people reporting a rumor over and over.

Either way its finally over, now maybe the Lakers could try to rebuild lol

Only two teams -- Houston and Los Angeles -- have yet to be notified of Howard's decision.

Fegan to Yahoo! Sports: "He hopes to finalize his decision tonight or tomorrow morning."

Nevertheless, multiple sources tell Y! Sports Howard has chosen the Rockets but is still finalizing details of agreement.

But given that several reputable insiders has said it's a done deal, and Woj saying that the Lakers and Rockets are the only teams left, this sure sounds like it's a done deal. Just that he hasn't informed the lakers or wants to officially announce it himself. IDK, but I think it's done.

I wonder if Josh Smith follows him.

Rumours the last couple days of a sign and trade for him. Asik to ATL and Smith to the Hawks. Considering he's a friend of Howard from the ATL days, Rockets lack a four, and Asik would go back to the bench it would make sense for it to happen..

Gotta give rockets GM credit if he pulls it off. I like what they've been doing the last 2 years.

Lin needs to improve the turnover rate and shooting % or he might set em back. Both should improve though since we won't touch the ball as much. Stills needs to be efficient.

I would give em a year or two together before I consider them a serious threat to OKC, Memphis or SA.... Unless they somehow got Rondo which would probably be impossible lol

Yeah, Morey is just a genius. No tanking, just sound contracts, collecting assets and aggressive deals. Completely turned to roster over while still being competitive.

I'm not a Lin fan, and I agree wholeheartedly. Rondo is officially not on the block according to Ainge, don't think he would compliment Harden very well either. Harden is great with the ball in his hands, attacking P&R etc, so he needs a PG to pass out to that can drain it. Some rumors about Lin for Calderon in a sign and trade. Still a possibility. His steady hands, pass first approach and great shooting would be great. But on the other hand make Houston have the worst defensive backcourt in the league. lol

Exciting times to be a Rockets fan, that's for sure. I'm sure Morey is working on other pieces.

If they could get another piece like Smith at the 4, I would say they are contenders depending on how well they will mesh throughout the season. Harden (1), Parsons (.5) Smith (.5) and Howard (1), would atleast make it a big three.

Asik reportedly wants out, don't want to be a backup again, and can see that. He's a very very good player that should be starting. Looks like they are working on a S&T for Josh Smith.

I'm going to bed, but hopefully I wake up to even more good news tomorrow morning.

Please let my pipedream of LMA come true.... But I won't be mad about JSmoove either.

I figured he would sign with the Rockets.  He's not a championship caliber player anyway, the Lakers wouldn't have been real contenders this season regardless of how things turned out.

SportsCenter reporting that Dwight is 50-50 between the Lakers and the Rockets.  I think we all just want the Dwightmare to end.
