Lol, Myck Kabongo leaves UT early to enter the draft and doesn't get drafted....

Should have stayed on the 40 acres SMH.

I know its just a second round pick, but I'm excited the Lakers got Ryan Kelly.

That alone should tell you how sad things have been as a Laker fan for the past year, I happy we drafted Ryan Kelly SMH

Celtics just ripped off Nets imo

Nets get: Paul Pierce (35), Kevin Garnett (38), Jason Terry (35)

Celtics get: Three First Round picks (2014, 2016, 2018), Keith Bogans, Marshon Brooks, Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Kris Joseph

Losing Pierce is tough but they get a lot younger and shed a ton of cap space. Most importantly get three first round picks. Marshon Brooks has a ton of potential, the Celtics have two very young Shooting guards coming off the bench now with Brooks and Jordan Crawford. Both could be potential stars.

I actually like the trade for the Nets too tbh. Giving up those picks is tough but that starting five is really scary and they got decent depth. They are legit contenders after the trade, even if it is only short term.

It's not a terrible move since they're going into rebuild mode. Unfortunately taking Wallace hurts their flexibility. They better hope that Brooklyn is in really bad shape in 4 years so those draft picks are meaningful.

Just did some reading on the Boston trade. Really rough for the Celtics.

In terms of the 3 picks, keep in mind that the Hawks can swap them. This means that just about every one of those picks will be in the late 20's. As Bill Simmons said during the draft show, those picks are generally misses, so if the Celtics are lucky they may get a decent role player or two out of it.

To make things worse, the Celtics pretty much gain no cap space. They get Humphries' expiring contract and get out of the awful Terry deal. However, as I said before, by taking Wallace they kill any room for trading that they had. They actually would have had more NET cap room if they let Pierce and KG leave on their own.

THe main core of this team (Rondo and Green) is age 26 and up. They do not have time to go through this rebuild.

I just read that the Celtics are getting Marshon Brooks instead of Reggie Evans. Brooks looked great in his rookie year and showed that he could be a future all star. Not to mention Bogans and Humphries, are easily dump-able. Just another genius trade by Danny Ainge.

Next year is one of the deepest drafts in history

So Boston is banking on drafting a game changer. Not how I would strategize with my best player in his prime

They are most likely going to have a lottery pick with that one top of the other first could see a lot of young talent add that to Crawford, Brooks, Kelly O the team brought in a lot of nice young players. Adding to the list of Fab Melo and Jared Sullinger they brought in last draft.

So you think Crawford And Melo are pieces to build with? I like Sullinger and Brooks, but it still sounds like a lottery team to me. I expect Rondo to be traded by the deadline next year unless they are able to flip assets for a player like Smith. This is a gigantic gamble by DA

Maybe not Melo but Crawford looked really good with Wiz, averaging 16 points a game in 2011. He has the scoring ability and he's just 24 years old. The team is aiming for lottery in 2014 I suspect unless they make a trade for J Smoove.

Idk man, he was completely out of the WAS rotation (a very weak one) by the time he hit BOS. Then in BOS he showed no defensive, passing, o scoring skills. Pretty much made the Boston rotation because of injuries and made a few circus shots when he got playing time.

He did fall out of rotation in his last year there but he's still young

I think you're right about Rondo being gone if something doesn't happen

Next season seems it's going to be tough on the fan but idk

DA is not done yet

Myck Kabongo

Remember the name surprisingly. Can't think of his face or ever remember him playing.

That sucks though.

To any NBA fans who were interested in joining the forum's NBA fantasy game, a player just dropped out and a spot has opened. Let me know if you're interested!

Josh Smith, one of the top free agents after Howard and Chris Paul, is a top candidate to wind up in Boston via a sign-and-trade. The Celtics nearly got him in the past in trades with the Hawks and are looking to pair him with his former AAU teammate, Rajon Rondo

Also, Brian Scalbrine is talking about becoming an assistant coach lol

Would be pretty sweet for Boston, they'd be capable of winning some games and probably finishing as a 3 or 4 seed. If they can manage to keep Green, Sully, and Bradley, and add some some good scoring pieces and a center, they would be pretty nice.

I hope it goes. So much suspense going into next year, which is why NBA offseason is my favorite

He fell out of the Washington rotation cause he had a VERY bad attitude and wanted out. He was a locker room cancer. He can still mature though.
