Lakers got Chris Kaman.

Good player, but they still need help on the defensive side of the ball

Dumbtoni doesn't believe in defense, we've been over this.

You're right.

And Jerry Buss is too stupid to see that. FIRE HIM ALREADY

Man Olynyk has been impressive in the summer league, looking like I'll have to eat some crow.

Have him face a good center.... Not in the summer league

He'd get eaten alive

Based on what? He's playing PF btw

Ah.

Based off the fact that he's a rookie. Dominating in the summer league is nice and all, but it's completely different from a real game.

If I recall correctly, Chris Enenga(or however you spell his name), formerly of the Lakers, dominated last year too. Didn't do anything.

Olynyk will be good in 2-3 years, not this year IMO. Even with all of the playing time he will receive

Chris Eyenga has been in the D-League for years, not a great example. Look at all the players who dominated the summer league and it did translate over the next year. They wouldn't play it if it were worthless.

I'm not the biggest fan of Olynyk to be honest. I do think he will be a good player tho. Just not yet

I'm a big fan of him. His 3 game is crazy! Needs to put a lot of work in defensively though

Watch clips of him, his offense is top-notch for a C!

Andrew Bynum to Cleveland. I actually like the move. It's a safe gamble. If Bynum is 100% he's a top 5 Center. Maybe they trade Varejao for something.

Irving
Waiters
Bennett
Thompson
Bynum

That looks like a solid young team to me. A 5-6-7th seed next season.

Heat
Bulls
Pacers
Nets
Knicks
Cavs
Pistons
Wizards
-------------
Hawks

That's my prediction

Who cares? It's summer league.

Kidd's wallet does.  What do you think about H-Town's Dwightmare?

Houston won't be a competitor for the title. That's going to the Heat or Nets.

Dwight isn't a champion center anyway. Put him up against all the old former "best centers in the NBA"
He'd get crushed by them

They've got the most overrated player in the NBA in Howard, but and absolute STUD in Harden, and a nice player in Parsons.

Not a Lin fan, but Asik is good.

But they're not as deep as OKC, GSW, SAS, LAC(I'm a hypocrite. I forgot they have Rivers).

Sorry Geiving.

We will see boys, we will see.

I don't know how many Rockets games you all saw last season. But Jones and Dmo has a lot of potential. So does Bev. But the beauty of what they have done is hitting some gems in the draft, like Parsons, DMo and TJones. Getting Asik, Howard, Beverly as free agents and Harden through trade. Have to give Morey props.

They will probably be more televised this season. And as of right now.

Lin/Beverley

Harden/Garcia

Parsons/Casspi

DMo/Jones

Howard/Asik

Looks pretty good to me. Contenders, possibly. Heat are still the favorites, Nets have a shot, if only for a short while. Thunder are up there, Pacers are up and coming and the Spurs still have a shot, at least for another year. Warriors will be exciting to see.

Houston though, looks to me like a team that can make noise for the coming years. Still have all their first round picks, and have assembled multiple 2nd rounders. And Asik and Lin plus picks and/or a young player like Dmo/Jones available to package for a disgruntled 3rd star in the future. Great situation to be in.

But whatever, haters gonna hate ;)

I know plenty about them.. Have seen them live and know plenty about Beverly since I live in Arkansas...

Don't see that lineup making a lot of playoff noise

I Don't trust Lin, Beverly, Howard (right now) or Harden in the playoffs.. They need to prove something first

They have the roster to become something but they would need Howard to do a 180.... harden to become a conplete star and/or Lin to refine his game and become a good game manager

I don't see Lin being anything more than what he is and I'm not a big fan of harden and Howard to me is a ?

Like i've stated before, I'm not a big fan of Lin either, too inconsistent and too many turnovers. But on the plus side, he improved his shooting during the season. Averaging almost 40% from three the last 37 games or so. And he´s a good pick and roll player. He's young and battled through an injury last season, he's still young, so he's not a lost cause by any means.

Harden is an excellent pick and roller and Howard is the best bigman pick and roller. That combo can be lethal, along with Parsons emerging as an extremely good baller too.

Like we all know, Howard wasn't happy last season, didn't give it his all and battled through injury too. I think he will be highly motivated next season, and healthy. That's a 20+ppg and 12+rpg, 2bpg center. Asik won't give a big drop off on the defensive end when he's out there either .

You have to remember that this team is YOUNG. Their window is fairly large to get in to contention.

Dmo and Jones have the potential to be quality starting 4's too. Dmo needs to work on strength and defense, and Jones I absolutely love. But he's what 19, 20 years old. He can play.

Harden will be the best SG in the league this year with age and injuries catching up to both Kobe and Wade. Howard the best center. Parsons will shine and so will one of the two young PF imo. Parsons contract is amazingly cheap since he was a 2nd rounder. They are in prime position for further personnel moves, and I think they will be among the best in the west this year already.

Remember how close the 6-8th seed was last year. Two games seperated the Rockets from the 6th spot. Now they have added a healthy Howard. And Lin, Harden, Parsons, Dmo and Jones will all likely improve.

Honestly with wade and Kobe injured/falling apart there isn't much competition at all to be the best SG

I'll wait to see how Howard and Asik mesh before I start saying they are anything more than a potential 5 seed...

True, but with Kobe and Wade falling apart. Harden will also be closing in on the top 5 players in the league. Lebron, Durant, Paul, Anthony... Harden? You could argue some other players in front of him. But again, the guy is 23 and still evolving, so he will be the top SG for many years. This is a perimeter driven league now, as opposed to the 90's.

Don't think Asik and Howard will see too much time on the floor together. Howard and Dmo, Asik and Jones of the bench probably. Asik and Howard together would be for situational plays probably.

What teams do you rank before them calling them a potential 5 seed at best btw?

Every year the Spurs are supposed to fall off with Parker, Duncan and Gino aging, but given their track record, I will put them ahead. Thunder have a great team, so I can agree with them too. But imo, with the addition of Howard, they can possibly compete with them. And are at least on par with the Warriors and Grizzlies. And Nuggets will fall off without Iggy.
