Bernard Pierce robbed and carjacked in Philadelphia

47 posts in this topic

That's why you bullet proof the car and tint the windows when ya a celeb and making decent money.

Also be careful. You don't want an accident in the wrong neighborhood or a flat tire in the wrong neighborhood.

HOw would bullet proofed, tinted windows have helped him from getting car jacked as he was getting into the car?

I didn't read the article I thought they pulled up to him at a stop light.

Wait they did pull up in another car according to the article. Bulletproof car just hit the gas and go especially if the windows were not down.

Well I've seen two versions, one the car pulled up next to them and jacked their car, another said it happened while they were getting to the car and the attacker's car pulled up and the guy jumped out then.

Trying to find the link to the latter.

I would advise rich folks to not parade down the street in an area known for drugs/Violence/crime in general... Some people like to take what they don't already have.... By following Bernard on twitter, I realized he's a bit immature and not a class act like ray rice. Either way, doesn't excuse the punks that robbed him

How is he immature and not a class act? That's not rhetorical. I don't follow him.

He seems to have a lot of personal issues, spouts off about it on twitter.. doesn't really project class and integrity IMO.

That really wasn't a real bad part of Philly.  It'd be like... Randalls town.  (I dated a girl in Philly not long ago, she lived near there)

I know that I feel fine living here in Philly, but there are some serious issues in this city.  We were on a record pace for murders earlier this year.  It's a real shame.  We're moving out of the city and buying a house in the suburbs soon after our child is born.

Every major city has issues...Baltimore included but it has spread to the smaller towns too. I lived in Baltimore for 30 years and moved to the Burbs but trouble seems to follow you.

I hear you there.  I was born in Wilmington, DE, which was recently rated the 3rd "smuttiest" city in America.  It also ranks at the top in murder rate per capita, so you never know.

it's 2013. Crime ain't limited to the cities. Thugs and Gangsters (for states that are into gangs....which seems like everywhere but the mid-atlantic gang violence is a problem) live in the suburbs too as they are about "that life" by choice and not necessarily poverty.

Such a shame, I'm just glad he's okay.

On a lighter note, the comments regarding Hernandez were pretty funny!

Saw him poppin into Terrance Cody's locker room cribs video.. Seems like he's in good spirits. No shame in getting caught up at some point in your life, wrong place at the wrong time (Just stay out Philly for a while BP!). I don't think it's gonna effect his confidence, not like he lost a fist fight or something. The guy had a gun on him, I bet you Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and GSP would do the same thing.. you don't play around with your life over material objects.

Big year for Pierce even with limited carries is my prediction given how he was running last year and the scouting reports this offseason. I feel bad for the coaching staff and Ozzie having to deal with having 2 of the best rb's in the whole league on the same team. It's a great problem to have but I know we are going to end having to straight up choose between keeping one of them, BP was a rookie last year but if he ends up shining this year and especially in 2014 which is the final year in his rookie contract it will put a lot of pressure on the Ravens to pick between the two. If BP keeps developing at his current rate he has every right to want to be a premiere #1 RB in the very near future. Team Rice vs Team Pierce will be the death of this forum if it ever comes down to that lol

Baltimore folks complaining about Philly crime? Come on now, crime is everywhere. Rice just got robbed in Bmore, it happens. Unfortunately, these guys are targets and should be cautious about where they are going for that reason.

Off point post here, but one of the ESPN blog comments was pretty funny I thought, although in totally poor taste:

"Aaron will go to prison a Tight End, but come out of it a Wide Receiver"....

It's an easy answer really, Pierce is a far better running HB than Rice is. Rice is just an elite receiving HB. Whenever BPs interact up Rice will be near 30 and his own contract close to being up. You bring Rice back as a leader and 3rd down back.

I think it's way too early to tell. Like I said we won't have to make this decision until the end of the 2014 season. That's plenty of time for Rice to further solidify himself as one of the top 5 RB's in football or for Pierce to really shine and prove that he is the future of this team at rb and we can't miss out a chance to lock him up long term.
