Draft a Franchise: Discussion Thread part 2!

Its not just one bad player though. There are a lot of question marks on your team, both on offense and defense. A lot of older players, a lot of players with injury histories.

we have done this me and you many times

troy=still can play

ryan=still can play

Nnamdi=still can play

Freeney=still a valuable piece

Gore=playing the best ball of his career

and as injury history goes I don't have a single one of these players that have gotten season ending injuries in this offseason so far

Maclin

Pitta

Hernandez(legal)

crabtree

Bulaga

and so on and so on.......yet they are all ahead of me

Wow just heard about bulaga. That is really going to hurt the packers. My team though is ok. I just drafted beachem as my utility back up lineman and he's already played rt.

I like beachem a lot......and I follow him because he is a steeler

but he is not even close to ready to be a full time starter.........but I bet you Gabe wont be as hard on your tackle as he is on mine....I think you will be fine too but Gabe likes to claim the rest of my talented offense can be disregarded because my tackles are weak......he wont say the same for your team though watch

You know what they say about opinions. The important part of it is do you like your team. If you do be happy with it. At the end of the season based on how they play you can come back and revisit the opinions to see how good or bad they were. Hey most on this site have extremely high hopes for the Ravens yet most of the analysts predict us to miss the playoffs and be one of the worst teams in football. So I just look at the opinions save them and revisit a few times throughout the season.

Well one difference is I still have an elite left side. Also bulaga will be on my team in future years still. I have your team overall a bit higher than gabe however I agree your tackles and secondary are weak points.

I agree my tackles are weak points......but my WR's are strong, my QB is strong, my LB's are strong, my RB core is good I have the best TE, my secondary has 3 vets who are good now and 2 rookies that I am real high on, my D-line is above average,

but because my tackles are weak im second to last......

Are they all on the same team? No. Do they have multiple players that are 30+ on their team? No. When was the last time Troy played a full 16 games? How about Ben? Nnamdi isnt even in the top 3 corners in SF after Culliver went down for the season. Santonio Holmes might not play this year. Anquan Boldin is old and slow as molasses. If you are leaning on him as your #1 that is not a good situation. Jackson is a deep threat only, and we have already been over your relatively poor offensive line. Gore and Leach are both old and probably have 2 more productive years MAX. Your defensive line has no one who can rush the passer. You are relying on a rookie and a 33 year old declining Freeney who struggled in a 3-4 to get any semblance of a pass-rush. It's just not a strong team.

I disagree with almost everything you've said and we have discussed most of it before.....all that I will add is that even if holmes doesn't play I have my TE as my elite target and boldin and Jackson are great compliments to him. also Nnamdi was misused in philly he is a solid man to man CB sill and gore and leach will play well this year, that's all that matters because I have Bell for the future

Lol. Gotta love the Nnamdi was misused in Philly excuse. I thought everyone knew that was garbage by now. How come he is 4th string in SF where they run predominantly man coverage? Care to explain that?

Just to play devil's advocate it could be that the guys they already have are a combination of better and know the defense better, its still early in TC right now.

Well considering their secondary is not very good that is not a good sign for nnamdi. Shocking to see a player fall that far at a young age and no injury. Kind of unprecedented really.

Just to play devil's advocate it could be that the guys they already have are a combination of better and know the defense better, its still early in TC right now.

Here's a quote from the NFCWest blog on ESPN

At corner, Nnamdi Asomugha appeared likely to step into Culliver's spot as the third corner, but Tramaine Brock was the player defensive coordinator Vic Fangio called upon first. Tarell Brown and Carlos Rogers are the starters, with Rogers shifting inside in sub packages.

As for Asomugha? He made plays on the ball when I visited practice, but the ever-direct Fangio offered a mixed assessment.

"He's had some good days out here and some days where you weren’t sure if he was going to still have it," Fangio said. "I think we're kind of in between with him right now. Hopefully, he'll be able to still have some gas left in his tank to go out there and play like he did prior to going to Philadelphia. So, I think the jury is still out there."

Fangio passed on an opportunity to blame Asomugha's struggles with the Eagles on the scheme Philadelphia was running.

"I think there's some of that, but Nnamdi is at this stage in his career where some guys start losing, their physical skills start to diminish. We just have to see if that’s entering into his picture, too, or not."

Time to reveal the next 8 people

24. PuRock- I like your team, but injuries keep it down. Some picks made by the original owner questionable.

23.Hawkprey- You got TT to be your QB, outside of that the rest of the team is solid.

22.Mt.Crushmore- this is more of the team of the future. They won't be great this year, but 2 years from now they'll be good.

21.Horus-Same as above, though these guys are going to need to take a QB.

20.RavensAlltheway-Shaub holds the team back and the D isn't that good.

19.berad- Brady doesn't have a great OLINE to work with, and a weak secondary.

18.ballhawker-The entire team is a question mark. This team has a high ceiling but is a whole bunch of unproven.

17.Ravens <3-This team is solid, but not spectacular. Cutler has an oline but not a good weapons corp outside of Jackson and Bowe. Other than that the team is actually pretty good.

Just missed the top half darn.

I don't think my secondary is that bad but my OL is cringe inducing.

I also have the Nebraskan Assassin, the Cornhole Master Cornhusker, the multi-talented beast known as Sam Koch. Punters are people too

If it makes you feel better the difference separating teams from 10-20 is not much at all. A lot of the teams came out very similarly in my rankings and I used who had the better QB to tiebreak if scores were the same.

A little lol. We all know Brady would get the favorable calls, too

That's a good value pick SAM, if I wasn't inclined to go for youth and upside I might have taken him over Escobar with my last pick.
