Stupid Comments Around The League

So I've ran into my share of them. But to call the US a nation of bigots, especially when what you are advocating for something in which we are seeing a whole lot of progressive change that we probably didn't expect we'd see.

Politics is an ugly enough thing to begin with and everything that is done in politics is for the purpose of wielding power and controlling perception. That's probably what he should have said, but instead everybody has to feel his verbal wrath...

You should say '...Yes, I am guilty as charged. Me and 330+million other Americans...'

Just kidding of course...

Let's play DA and say what he said was "right". Does he not realize that in any other country, save for maybe Canada, most everyone else is dealing with some form of the b-word that he used?!? It's flippin everywhere, and if there is a place on the planet where people tolerate difference better than anywhere else, I'd venture to say it is in this country.

But enough from me

I have to include Torrey Smith's Twitter comments. I dislike Pats fans as well, but I really don't want Smith going around and saying that. I admire him for not backing down. I hate it when people change their opinion to be politically correct, but I find the whole ordeal a bit stupid on his part.

Definitely counts.
I used to like what he had to say a few years back, but now I think all he does is open his mouth for attention. Just saying something out of the blue like that, really?

Brandon Marshall owned Warren Sapp lol!

I love that he did that.

Damn, MIN's kicking game took a hit.  Wonder if they'll try to get Walsh to punt.

I think this one fits in well with this thread:

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/07/colin-kaepernick-will-not-apologize-for-wearing-a-dolphins-hat/

Obviously he's free to do what he wants but I can't remember the last time I saw a currently employed professional athlete rocking the apparel of another organization in the same league. Now the dude hasn't exactly indeared himself to rival fans, so its probably not a great idea to screw with your own fanbase just because you can. Why not go with a Miami Heat championship hat or something? Based on what I know about the guy, it must have clashed with his look that day...

Also the picture in that article he took of himself is priceless to me. "Hey lemme take this one in the mirror, don't care that it reverses the logo I seemed so apt to show off because then I couldn't get this pic of myself trying to make a 'I don't give a .... face and look cool #ivegotalotofmaturingtodogetoffmyback"

I just shuddered...never thought I'd type a hashtag followed by a run on word...

Wearing it was not so stupid as aggressively defending it. There are lots of (semi) good reasons for that being on his head. Acting like a jerk afterwards: priceless.

Acting like a jerk? As in, acting like Terrell Owens? Or Warren Sapp?

Dude just came a few plays short in the Super Bowl and his fan base is harping on him. He should have said anything he wanted that wasn't nice!

The real jerk in this situation is the media that makes sure that everybody who is a football fan sees it. I guess when Vernon Davis or Michael Crabtree decide to stop following him on Twitter, the league and ESPN is going to be sure every last one of us is aware of that too

While I agree the media made this much more of a story than it should have been, its still an immature move by him. Did you not see the picture from the article I posted earlier on this page? If that isn't a jerk of a move to further antagonize your own fan base, I don't know what is.

I hate to post links to this crappy gossip site, but check out this story PFT dug up on Jim Harbaugh when he was a NFL player and his reaction to other teams' paraphernalia.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/07/06/colin-kaepernicks-dolphins-hat-recalls-an-old-jim-harbaugh-spat/

Based on that, I'm sure Jim will have some choice words for his QB when he sees him again.

This isn't necessarily a comment, but more a plan by the Browns:

Here is how it works: One game a year the fastest wiener dogs in the Midwest will put their “speed” to the test. The dogs will line up at the 50 yard line and Chomps (the Browns mascot) will wave a green flag. The dogs will then awkwardly run towards the end zone. First dog to the Dawg pound wins. - Source ESPN

So I guess the Weiner Dog is the Browns new mascot?

I don't know any other place to put this, but my God this is just stupid and so narcissistic. I would hate Flacco for doing this. I really, really, really don't like Kaepernick:

I assume this is fine since it's on NFL.com to post the images here:

His own teammate, Donte Whitner, thinks it's a bad move.

Heard about this but hadn't seen it until now. Dude's ego is Hindenburg sized and if he's not careful, overinflation could have detrimental results. Is it training camp time yet so these ridiculous stories can stop? Lol

Lol. Yeah. Just a little bit longer. We're almost there for TC!

As for him, I strongly dislike this player.

If the Purge existed. He would've been first.

Just sayin.

Dark sarcasm, but I hate the guy. I really hate him.

Goes to autograph thing.

I've been trying to avoid that photo... oh well. At least I get to say that before I die, I got to see most of Colin Kaepernick. That's exactly what I wanted to happen when he was named starting quarterback.
