No banning.

I would suggest an alternative instead of doing a normal snake, start both the 2nd and the 3rd round with the last pick and proceed with normal snake from there. Just shakes the top heaviness a bit.

The problem with that is it kinda screws over the person picking 3rd and so forth who miss out on Lebron and KD but still pick last in the 2nd and 3rd.

We agree about no banning, the count is currently either 5-3 or 5-2, depending on what we deem the legitimacy of nflfan's vote to be.

I guess, but the top players are really dominant IMO and not just KD and Lebron.

Same premise as Gabe's NFL "Draft A Franchise".

A 15 round snake draft to build your best NBA team. Since the NBA talent pool is way smaller than the NFL's, it will be a 20 team limit. There are no rules, but it is encouraged that you build a realistic team. Each pick will have a 24 hour time limit.

So far we have:
BaltimoreFlacco
Ravens<3
EdReed_20
Gabe
Miami Hurricane
SAM
RayTheDay
Seahawk
NFLFan
Codizzle
5SBAndProud
CARavensfan
STM
Geving
-Truth-

5 spots remaining!

For those who want in but are too late, you will be placed on a waiting list.

To clarify: I'm in! How do we decide who gets what # pick?

why not 30 teams with 15 rounds? we could easily recruit them. no need to wait until the other draft it's done, but until the end of finals it might be a good idea, so we could avoid delays and give everybody enough time to consider options

enough people struggle with one draft let alone two. It will slow to a crawl

LeBron stays. Count me in as saying that LeBron stays.

And we have to keep this at 20 teams because the NBA roster pool is so much smaller than the NFL roster pool. That's one reason. Another reason is, people would lose interest in the game with having 59 picks  before they can pick again.

Ok it's 8-2 for not banning Lebron. I agree that sizzle should not be counted since he's only playing in one scenario.

Poe and Horus have been added. There are 3 spots left.

You're in. We decided to have less teams because of the talent pool's size. We agreed that some teams would look pretty rough if we had all 30 teams. Also, what's your vote on the Lebron issue?

Might I suggest not starting until the other one is over?

Do you want in, or are you just making a suggestion?

I'm in, assuming there's still space.

If you need a body, Im in, but tbh this seems absurdly unfair to whoever has the #1 pick. Not only will LeBron actually get surrounded with quality talent this time around (unlike in Cleveland), but after getting LeBron, the guy will have a pair of back to back picks. He wont be the Miami Heat, but it will be better than every other team thats for sure.

Have you ever played fantasy basketball? Lebron's owner has never won a season I have played in. The NBA is pretty top heavy, once you hit players around 40 or so there are no stars left. And seriously, its just a game.

are you seriously comparing the two? Building a team and fantasy basketball are completely different. FWIW though, I won with LeBron last season. Altho I also wasnt stupid and managed to have picked up guys like Duncan, Steph Curry, etc.. in later rounds.

I know the NBA is top Heavy, but drafting LeBron is essentially drafting all five positions at once. He makes up for whatever spot you'd normally be deficient in and then some. I hate the guy because he copped and manipulated FA, but he is the most dominant player in the nba.

Like I said his team wont be the Miami Heat, but there is more than enough talent remaining to put a Clippers style team around LeBron

3 people against 11. Seems like general consensus is saying that LeBron is fair game, and rightly so. Just because someone is good doesn't mean you just delete him from existence. What if I drafted Leon Sandcastle??? I would dominate the entire draft, even if I didn't draft anyone else the entire time. Hahaha...

But in other news, Sizzle, if you don't think its fair to draft LeBron, but you end up with the first pick in the draft, will you still pick LeBron??

No crap I'd be insane not too. How is that a counter-argument? Thats like saying if MIchael Jordan is on the draft board in his prime would you pass on him? Completely irrelevant to the case which is that whichever team gets him has an inherent advantage that would be extremely hard for other people to make up and that whichever team takes him has a much larger margin for error.

My whole reason for wanting LeBron banned though is that he takes away from the skill in team building because he literally is an answer for everything. Your point guard sucks. No its okay dude I got LeBron. You have no size. No its okay dude I got Lebron.

Its not really that different. Fantasy basketball encompasses pretty much every statistical measure and unlike football stats directly lead to points/wins in the NBA. There are other aspects for sure like defense, but its really not that big of a difference especially considering this is just a draft and all we can look at are stats.
