I'd take KD over Melo

As much as I like KD, he just isn't the type of scorer Melo is. Melo can play on the perimeter, mid range and the post. KD can only do the perimeter and the mid range really. He doesnt have the weight or game to throw down in the post. KD is an insanely dominant scorer dont get me wrong, but Melo can do it all.

Can we get a ban lebron vote?

Keep him in. What, would you want to exempt Kobe if he was in his prime too, when he was the undisputed best in the world?

I hate Bron, but keep him in.

Agreed, it defeats the purpose to start elongating players. A team that take LeBron has the disadvantage of having to wait a long time to pick again so the talent if the rest if the team will suffer somewhat

KD is a better team player
Melo has horrible decision making at times, but he's one of my favorite players

Considering that team basically drafted a top 10 player at all 5 positions in one pick, that disadvantage isn't really enough honestly.

True but Melo is also one of the laziest players in the NBA to go along with that imo.

The real problem with melo is that he is extremely hard to build around. He is a PF that doesn't intensely rebound, but he can play small.  You cant really put other shooters around him because he is a volume shooter but at the same time you cant expect him to drop 50 a night either. He is capable, but as we saw with the Knicks, it is just not a viable strategy for winning. In addition, Melo isn't too amazing defensively. Again capable, but just doesn't show the will to play tough D. However, I feel like the Knicks had the right idea with how to build around Melo, but did not execute it well enough due to cap constraints caused my the panic move to sign Amar'e after losing out on LeBron.

Melo is a SF

He played PF for the Knicks which is closer to his true natural position . He loves to operate offensively in the post.

He played SF in Denver and his first year in NY
If you put him at PF you have SERIOUS issues on the defensive end

See Knicks. Thats how they've used him all year and he won the scoring title. Also Im not saying Melo didnt play SF, just that he prefers to and that his skillset reflect that of a stretch four.

He can't play D to save his life.

KD is at least a solid defender.

I am in no way supportive of banning Lebron. He has 1 ring and possibly a 2nd depending on game 7 in 10 seasons. 3 of those seasons have been with 2 other All-Stars. He is a phenomenal player and athlete but he can be beaten. IMO the gap between Lebron and Durant for the top pick is much smaller than some make it out to be due to the age difference. Having Lebron doesn't guarantee you anything. If you want to beat the guy with him, build a better roster that works together. I see it as a challenge personally.

Vote to ban:

4 no, 3 yes

I understand it allows him to operate better on offense but the team had to adjust in defense

well idk if my vote was counted, but like I said im in if LeBron is banned

I think it was already counted, so the count should still be 4-3. However, I'm not sure a vote counts if you say you are in pending a certain decision. If you are in you are in, regardless of how the vote goes. If you are waiting to see how it goes to decide to enter the vote should be 4-2.
