Dang I didn't know this was a done deal. I like it. I remember one Jag fan hyping him up and saying he was one of their best Defensive players.

Jags fan here coming to give you some info on Daryl Smith-

Daryl is the Jaguars all time leading tacker. He does everything very good, but isn't necessarly elite in any specific thing. He's been the rock on our defense for the past 7 years and has never caused any issues or gotten into any trouble. In short, Daryl Smith is an identical player to London Fletcher. Daryl's injury last season is his first major injury, where he completly tore his groin muscle from the bone in training camp, and never fully recovered. Even though he wasn't 100% in the last 2 games, him being in the game elevated our level of defense, due to the players trusting him. He won't make a ton of "flashy" plays, but he won't make a mistake either. You guys got yourselfs a very good, if not the best 4-3 non-rush OLB in the game.

Solid praise.  Good to hear.  I hope he's fully recovered.

Thanks to whoever posted his 2011 game footage. Glad to have Daryl Smith on the team, he looks like he will be a 3 down linebacker for us.

Dude is a 91 on madden lol. I know it's only madden but for people like myself who don't follow the jags or have rarely sat through an entire jags game, I think it's a little bit noteworthy

Yeah, Daryl's been among league leaders in tackles most years for a long time.  He reminds me a bit of Derrick Brooks or Lance Briggs, a non rush OLB (probably a Mike for us) that roams around, can cover, can tackle, a real solid cog in a defense.

I think this signing along with Huff, Doom and Canty will help us be the best defense in the NFL this year! Mark my words people - the best D in the NFL.
