I think the reason people are criticizing Cary is because he's 1) no longer a Raven & 2) He has a history of running his mouth and making himself look stupid at times.

I thought it was obvious. He got beat a lot over two seasons and seemed to be constantly running his mouth. He did make some timely plays but the bad outweighed the good.

Agreed. The guy had 4 big INTs (although 2 of those were underthrown easy pickens) last season, but I'd swear it seemed like he gave up a 1000 freakin yards!

Yes they aren't mandatory, but Canty and Spears were at the first few OTAs and then they missed the second round. Cary has pretty only be in attendance for the mandatory stuff.

Plus we are talking about Philly here, everything is a bigger issues there lol

Cary does have a point and so does Arnie. These aren't mandatory and why not enjoy the personal time away before getting ready for the mandatory OTAs. Besides if Goodell gets his way, players won't be able to have any personal time with a 18 game schedule.

It's a good point, though. For instance, I enjoy what I do but we had a "mandatory" meeting on Tuesday & Wednesday last week. Well, because I had to work Memorial Day I had off on my original day of work (Tuesday). I'm not coming into work for some stupid meeting on my scheduled day off. I just didn't go into work that day. I didn't get reprimanded.

When someone is being paid the most they are ever paid and their response to team activities, where all other vets are at, is to say
"That players are held captive is a joke"

Otas are three days. I repeat three days. Is it hard for a team paying you millions to expect you to atleast show respect in regards to the otas.


As for the ota being voluntary as opposed to being mandatory. That is another benefit greedy players fought for. To be paid millions but to have a good portion of practices this time of year not be mandatory.

This is why you see workout bonuses for players. Because they want to reward guys who are willing to do the offseason work and lead their team.


One thing I haven't read in all of his nonsense is how he is working out on his own. But at the end of the day. Its his choice and his decision to not out In the work.

The off man that was played for a good portion of the year was designed to help cover up for the fact that our front 7 was decimated and getting run over early in the year. He was playing within the system. Now there is no way in the world he is worth close to what Philly is paying him. But he is not as bad as some are claiming either.

After watching him give up pursuing Eric Decker during the regular season broncos game and that push that sent that referee sailing during the superbow we all can see he's not the character we want in the  Ravens locker room.

I don't particularly mind Cary's playing ability.  He's a very decent corner who struggled at times, but also made some very good plays.

 

My issue with him is that he has a ginormous ego.  It appears that he thinks he's the best corner to ever step foot on the field, and shows it by mouthing off to anyone and everyone.  He gets angry and then makes stupid mistakes, or gets called for unnecessary penalties.

 

I don't have patience for that.  Play your position, make plays and shut the heck up.

That's not really true. He was never a #1 or #2. He played one side - whoever lined up in front of him. He was good at times and a nice surprise for a former special teamer, but whether he's starting quality is still questionable. But the Eagles defense really does stink and he's actually going to be one of their better players on D.

In all seriousness, Cary wasn't as bad as many, myself included, made him out to be as a player. But as others have said, he can take that attitude and shove it. There's a difference between having confidence in your abilities and expressing yourself verbally and (after the play) physically.

You're welcome to find another, follow a new team, go to a different forum, etc. I respect your opinion but why do you care? I don't see anyone chastising him any differently than they did when he was here yet ironically you're chastising those of whom you see chastising. That's a lot of chastising.

I don't mind your difference in opinion but I don't know many fans that don't do this. I've read other forums and they do the same like the Texans and Jacoby.

While I'm not personally chastising Williams and like him as a player I find your behavior pretty disrespectful to fans of a team you claim to support.
