Cary Williams is already wearing out his welcome in Philadelphia

Is it new? lol nah....

If he's still in our team, Harbs or Ray will keep him in check...

Besides, when you were in practice squad all year long, all of the sudden you became starter, offered with #1 CB money, and won the ultimate price, SB.  Do you think that person is going to be motivated to work hard ever again? unless he is about to go broke..lol

I'm glad we have so much depth and talent on the secondary, so disposing Cary won't even dent anything.

Not surprising at all

Just wait until he gets matched up against the opponents' #1.

Because missing OTAs is a huge deal.

I think it's a bigger deal to Philly because they brought him in as a Super Bowl winner, probably hoping he would motivate his teammates. Some teams are complacent just making the playoffs and Chip Kelly is obviously trying to do an image makeover for his Eagles. The point of bringing in a guy who won it all is for him to lead by example, saying "This is how you win it all".

Also I think they consider him a prized possession.

Oh they are in the shock of their lives. In week 2 when the Chargers play the Eagles, Cary will make Philip Rivers look like a pro bowl quarterback and actually give the Chargers hope they can continue the Super Bowl win streak against the Eagles.

He had a lame excuse to miss them.  While they're not technically mandatory, most players are generally expected to be there, especially during your first year on the team where you're getting accustomed to a new system.

I'm not going to read too much into this, but I honestly didn't mind losing Cary, and I was a big supporter of his for quite some time.

Yep. Just got home from my bar where nearly every single buddy of mine is an Eagles fans. This is the general consensus. He's got a ring. They don't. They expected him to set an example.

He's coming off of an injury, ain't he?  Plus he's far more of a graybeard than Cary is, OTAs aren't as important for a vet like him.

my point is many people don't go to OTAs and this writer has just went off on one about Cary. He's making an example out of him when it's not like he's the only one

Yeah

I thought it was obvious. He got beat a lot over two seasons and seemed to be constantly running his mouth. He did make some timely plays but the bad outweighed the good.

I agree but he really stepped up for us last year. I don't know, just feels like people get a joy out of extensively bashing him whenever there's an opportunity. Almost as if he was as bad as Frank Walker, Corey Ivy, ect.

He certainly stepped up last year. I hear you on the bashing. He definitely wasn't as bad as those two.

I enjoy this:

What’s even worse is that he doesn’t give a damn that the fans are pissed off and sees nothing wrong with what he’s doing.

Good thing Philly fans are so forgiving!

We're not in Baltimore anymore, Toto....

He was thrown at so often that half of all his interceptions were just luck. And we was such a hothhead. I don't know how all the fights started (though the one with DeSean Jackson was Jackson's fault), but all I saw was Cary mouthing off. And if you do that, being able to back it up would certainly be nice.

We go to work everyday, buddy. Save family stuff for your day off. I know it's voluntary, but for people like you, a little practice wouldn't hurt. Oh and when you're with a new team, the new team pretty much expects you to show up at everything, "voluntary" or not. That's just the way it works. I never really liked his personality. After that Patriots game in week 3 (He surrendured 37.5% of the yards our D gave up, 121) he used Tom Brady's greatness as an excuse instead of apoligizing and manning up. I didn't actually suck, but he was very inconsistent and his commitment raised my eyebrows even before all of this unfolded.

Cary has always been a ticking time bomb, even while playing for the Titans in a limited role. All I remember seeing from him is him getting beat time and time again, him playing off of receivers and not being physical at the LOS, and him always being a second away from provoking a fight from the receiver he was defending because he was always running his mouth. Sure, he got INT's, but if you get thrown at on every single play, you better come up with something. Quite frankly, I'm glad that he is gone. He is all bark and no bite, and now that he's not playing on a halfway decent D, that will be exposed.
