Ravens Vs. Redskins
Redskins fans are just nervous period. Their playoff hopes are slipping. They've started talking QB controversies. Some of them are calling for Todd Collins to start (He did go 5-1 last year). Jim Zorn had to shoot that down today. They are hitting a bad stride at the wrong time.

But we can't blame them too much. We did get clobbered by the Giants as well. But at least we weren't playing at home.
Yeah, and the Ravens gave up 2 hundred something rushing yards, while the redskins barely gave up 100, if they even gave up that much.

The Giants just make everybody look bad. They make teams start questioning their capabilities in the NFL. We responded with a big game against the Eagles. Hopefully the Redskins do not respond to their Giants loss against us.

I've said since the beginning of the season that Jason Campell can't handle a pass heavy offense. They key to beating the Deadskins is to stuff CP and bring the heat on JCam and we have done that all year.

Being in the Redskins Primary Market. All I hear on ESPN radio is Redskins blah blah. From Steve Zaban to Doc Walker to John Thompson. But they all disect Cambell every week. They say he's got an extremely slow release. I'm looking forward to playing against their banged up OL and a slow release QB. Our DL should have a field day.

FYI: I am going to love listening to sportstalk 980 in the D.C. Metro area this week. All they will talk about is Redskins vs. Ravens. Oh yea. One of their prominent talking heads today prounced Ngata as Noata. They were talking aboout how good our DT was doing this year "what's his name......Noata."

This probably won't be a big game for Flacco it seems like we'll just pound the ball because the Skins do have a good secondary if nothing else. While I'd like to see another Flacco 50 yd bomb I don't know if we will I think there will be a few short TD passes instead like the first one we saw against Cincy.

You're probably right, but never underestimate the incompetence of DeAngelo Hall.

This is however a great candidate for trick plays as the rest of the Skins D is nothing special and the corners are easily fooled. Trick plays! Trick plays!

well portis is not the only one that can hurt us.. Santana moss is good and fast... we have to make sure he doesnt burn us deep.... Cooley is a great TE.. so i mean our D has to worry bout their passing game if they do manage to throw on us.... as far as offense, we should be able to play ravens offense on them and move the ball.. Its their passing offense vs our secondary that scares me but i feel we should win this anyway...
I think our chances just went up significantly.

Didnt Clinton Portis get injured during the game with the Giants?

Plus them coming off a very physical game will leave quite a lot of their players sore and hurt.

This game will go our way thanks to the help of the Giants.
You guys need to stop with this...

I mean i want to beat them when they have there starters in there. That way people can't say "oh they only won because ___________ was out"
Its just annoying when people hope opposing players don't play.

Who cares if people say that? How many guys do we have on the IR? No way anyone can use that excuse against us when half our team is on the IR...besides, a win is a win is a win; we don't get bonus points for beating them when all their starters are healthy.

All that matters is how the teams are playing right now. The Redskins, despite a plethora of talent on offense, have struggled mightily to score any points at all lately.

On the other hand, the Ravens have been playing supercalifragilistic defense lately. You can see where that's going.

If the Ravens can keep up the hammer run game/deep pass every 10 plays thing going, they should have success.

I don't know how the 'Skins CB situation is, though. Springs, Smoot, Rogers, are all pretty decent and sometimes very good. I have no
clue if Jason Taylor is going to suit up, but if Andre Carter and Cornelius Griffin are their only notable linemen, we'll be fine.

Samari vs. Moss and Washington etc. vs. Randle El, Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly are not easy matchups, Leonhard and Reed will have to play good zones and the front seven will have to pressure a pretty good 'Skins O-line.

It should almost be a blowout, but it will probably be close since the 'Skins will be desperate, have talent, and it's a prime time night game.
The Baltimore crowd should be downright oppressive, though some D.C. fans will show up of course.

I don't know, their passing D has been slipping the last few weeks. Chris Horton is a rookie that's playing well. But Springs has gone down hill. I actually believe that DeAngelo Hall is now the starting cornerback over Springs. Plus we should be able to give Flacco plenty of time in the pocket.

Usually I'm with you, I think we will be running like crazy. But I actually think in this game, we will see a fair share of passing plays.
This game means just as much to me as when we face the Steelers. We haven't faced the Skins in a regular season game since October 26th, 1997 BAL 20 @ WAS 17. We've been waiting 11 years to play them again. Now we will determine which city has the better team (we already know who has the better fans). We will settle this once and for all, D.C., and after it's all over we will see who has the better team.
This will be the 4th reg.season meeting between Ravens-Skins. Ravens lead series 2-1.
However, this will be Washington's first visit to Baltimore in a reg.season game since a 1978 MNF game @ Memorial Stadium.

It'll be interesting to see how many of the Redskins fans show up at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday night. I was at the Redskins/Ravens game at Fedex during our superbowl year. A lot of Ravens fans showed up at Fedex Field. We lost that game and there were a lot of fights between the fans in the parking lots.

I'm a Skins fan, and I'll be there. I would expect between 20-30% of the crowd will be rooting for the Redskins, but I'd be surprised if it's more than that. That's about the number of Ravens fans that show up at FedEx when the teams have met there. I've never been to your stadium and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm sick to my stomach with regard to Skins fans are abandoning Jason Campbell. Is it his fault that receivers are dropping balls? Of course not. I think he's a good QB that can certainly improve, but that will only come with more and more experience. As for your team, they look great, and I'm certainly pulling for them after Sunday (and before). Flacco was a steal on your part, and I hope that he's a fixture in Baltimore for years to come. Thanks to Jurgensen and Unitas, both Baltimore and Washington are special places to play quarterback, and I think both franchises are deservant of good QB's. I'm thinking that we'll beat you 17-13, as it'll be a defensive struggle. You all might well win, and if so, it is what it is. But I wouldn't expect a high scoring game.

I'll be shocked if it's more than 10% Skins Fans, after all, they had to go to a silent count AT FEDEX against the Steeler Fans! If they can't out number the Steeler Fans at FEDEX, I don't see how they post more than 10% at M&T.

20-30 percent is a large number of opposing fans for M&T Bank. That happens at Fedex because of all the corporate ticket holders but rarely at M&T. I'm thinking more like 10%.

And I agree. I do not know why some of your fans are abandoning Cambell. You OL has been failing, your WRs aren't scaring anyone, plus you've faced a few great teams the past few weeks. But fans calling for heads will happen, some people here wanted to abandon Flacco after 5 games into his rookie season.

As I've said, I've never been to M & T Bank, but I've heard that you all have had your issues with Steeler fans in the past as well. I think it's safe to say that the Steelers have the largest fanbase in the league. I'm sorry to say that, but I think it's true. I see terrible towels everywhere they play. For a Steeler away game, the number of fans at FedEx was probably about status quo, if not a bit under what they're used to (again, based upon what I've heard). I'm a season ticket holder, and while there were definitely a lot of Steeler fans, believe me, it wasn't as bad as it was made out to be in the media. At the beginning of the game the Skins fans were very loud, and it was pretty quiet when we were on offense. But as Pittsburgh started winning, their fans became bolder and bolder. The noise was never unbearable (in my opinion), but what started happening was Skins fans started trying to get the Steeler fans to be quiet, and ultimately that added to the noise. But as I said, the media overblew that big time. For all I know my 20-30% estimate will be way off, and if so then I'll just be wrong. But keep in mind that DC is a lot closer than most of your other opponents.

For what it's worth, I hope that we pick up the tradition of playing you all in preseason again next year. I think that it's good for both teams because it's a preseason game for which neither side effectively has to travel. I'm sure that they still do the "obligatory" night before the game in a hotel near the stadium, but it's not as if they need to get on a plane and go to a different area. If anything, maybe they should play the game at a neutral site such as Byrd Stadium, and sell the tickets through ticketmaster or something like that (as opposed to having it at FedEx/M & T Bank and selling the seats to the STH's).

Here's my Steelers rant of the day:

Steelers do travel well wherever they go. They have nothing else to look forward to in their pathetic lives. If I lived in Pittsburgh year round. I'd want to get out of town at all costs as much as I could.

I must say waiving around a dirty 'terrible' towel is pretty strange. And who calls a towel 'Terrible'. I use my towel to keep me dry and fresh. To me I see that as a godsend. But dirty steelers fans, prefer to take their towels, use it to clean up what ever mess they can. Than bring it to the stadium and wave it around in a spastic fashion. More power to them, I'll keep my towels to dry myself.

My friend is dating a guy who loves the Steelers so one week she had a Ravens party while he was away and another Ravens fan wiped his ****** on her boyfriend's terrible towel and left a racing stripe right down the middle and hung it back on the wall. Classic.

What ever you want to say about a towel and how a fan supports their team is their own issue. You can go to a local baseball game and hear cow bells during the game and that drives me crazy more than a towel. Steeler fans do travel well and were voted #1 in fan support on ESPN earlier this year for a poll ESPN ran. That said, I can understand why there were a good amont of fans at FedEx field this past Sunday and can see there will be at least 40% at M&T Stadium on Dec 14 for the Steeler game.

As far as living in Pittsburg or Baltimore, Pittsburg is by far my opinion the better place to live. Nothing against Baltimore but I like Pittsburg better and thats coming from a fan of neither teams.

I don't really have a problem with the Steelers per se. Before the Ravens came to town them and the Packers were my second favorite teams. And quite honestly, "home field advantage" is no longer what it used to be with regard to the fans. I've seen a nice contingent of Skins fans at pretty much every stadium we've played at this year. With the advent of ebay and stub hub, more and more people have access to tickets in any stadium they want. Travel is certainly more expensive these days, but then again more and more people are moving around the country, and when their team comes to town they want to see them play. (Travel for me is easy since I'm in the hotel industry...I can get employee rates in any city I want!) I've never been to Pittsburgh, but I've heard that it's a little run down.

ok first of all you know the terrible towel is an effective tool to support your team...when you get hundreds of those towels waving in the stadium its beautiful....it really shows how many steelers fans there are

secondly this idea that all steelers fans are these bored dumb toothless goons....is crazy

im college educated, my pops is a judge....we love the steelers

its like me saying all ravens fans are dirty fisherman who like to crab and eat clam chowder...sounds crazy doesnt it

I think the Redskins and the Ravens will go back to playing preseason next year and in years when they do not face each other in the regular season. Actually preseason tickets are easy and cheap to get if you know where to look. They should also do a scrimmage at the very least, I have been both to the ones at M & T Bank and FedEx Field and the one at Baltimore was sold through Ticketmaster and Redskins scrimmage at FedEx was free execept parking was $25 a car. I took the metro to that one and paid $4.60 round trip
