Top 5 AFC North by Position - Skill Positions

... Talking about his whole career... No one is discrediting this season especially not me

Even still, Flacco has earned a rep as being superb in the postseason and being held back by his teammates (OC, defense, OL, even run game at times).

Lee Evans, Dickson, Boldin all dropped game winning TD passes in the AFCCG for us over the years. If those things dont happen, we might have three SB trophies in the last five years, and we would be discussing Flacco's place in Canton, not his position on some guys list on the internet

they are different types of receivers........but they are both solid WR's

I'm curious to know, what are your thoughts on Trent Richardson, the Bengals RBs, Bell, and Bernard Pierce?
Basically your thoughts on the RBs in the division except Rice.

Did a moron hack yours? Or is it your normal troll self?

The irony of you calling someone else a moron is awesome!

It's sad that a Steelers fan can argue over Flacco and make a ton more sense than you do, and you are supposed to be supporting the guy, not being a typical whiny fan

I'm not whining at all lmao!!!

I'm saying don't say Big Ben rides coat tails of his defense when you don't like it when people have the same comments about Flacco!

I don't like Big Ben but I respect him. You whine about respect not given to Flacco by fans and media and then you come here and disrespect Ben by saying his defense and wideouts carried him.

None of this has to do with how Joe played. I am talking about your BS excuse to discredit a guy who has proven himself time after time.

Where have I bashed Flacco in this thread? Only thing that comes close is when I said I wish he would of taken the reigns from Cam. That's it . Such a troll dude...

I can't get over why you are thinking I am discrediting Flacco. Read all the posts in here. I'm not a homer, so I'll never say Flacco is god but I respect him. He has a tough job and showed how well he could excel at said job. By me saying Big Ben and him might be tied for first makes me a hater?

well Rice is number one

my 2=5 are

2.Richardson

3.Dwyer

4.Pierce

5.Bell

now I love Bell, I think he is going to be up there with Richardson and Rice. but until he actually proves his skills translate he is at 5 on just potential

Dwyer is a good back and if he is given the reigns of our offense I think he could be 1000+ every year(but he wont)

I like pierce I agree with the OP regarding him

Richardson I see so much potential in.....but he is on the browns....they will ruin him

Who would you take between BJGE and Bernard?

I agree 100% on QB and would agree more at running back but I don't like to project unproven rookies ahead of veterans unless they're clearly a ridiculously talented player. While I like Bell I can't put him above BGE. If we're talking rookies then Bernard should be in there. I know you're looking at it from the perspective that PIT will start Bell and Bernard looks to be in a rotation. But even so I think Bernard is a better player than Bell. You also have Dwyer and Redman and neither should be ignored. They could be on this list above some rookies.

Now the fun part. I agree that Green deserves his high status. He's clearly the best. I would put Smith ahead of Brown but not by much. Smith is a lot faster than Brown and he has a higher ceiling. I believe Brown has reached his. I think Smith is as good or slightly better than Brown right now but I give Smith the edge because of his upside. Gordon is placed right. I'm not sure about Sanders. I've never been all that impressed by him. But if it's between him, JJ, Little, and Sanu I suppose the ranking is fair since I'm not sure JJ is better than him as a receiver but I do believe JJ is the best returner in the division. It's close between Sanders and Jj for the 5th spot.

QBs: The tide is shifting but not yet there, I will call it the way I see it at this point. *I expect a shift in positions after the coming season (I really wanted to rate them a tie).

1. Big Ben*
2. Joe Flacco*
3. Andy Dalton
4. Brandon Weeden*
5. Jason Campbell*

TEs: This goes against many here because some selections include a TE that has not yet played in the NFL. The top two are on their way up while Heath may be beginning his decline.
1. Jermaine Gresham
2. Dennis Pitta
3. Heath Miller
4. Ed Dixon

RBs:
1. Ray Rice
2. Trent Richardson
3. B.Green-Ellis
4. Bernard Pierce
5. Jonathan Dwyer

WRs:
1. A.J. Green
2. Torrey Smith
3. Antonio Brown
4. Jacoby Jones
5. Emmanual Sanders

Gresham has been a huge disappointment, no way he should be above Miller and Pitta definitely shouldn't be above Miller. He might be a better receiver but he isn't a complete TE like Miller.

If not for the injury and age, Miller would be considered the best TE in the division easily. He is one of if not the most complete TE in football. He's an excellent player.

How can Gresham be a such a huge disappointment with more yards, more yards per catch, and more catches than Dennis for each of the last three years. Both are on their way up.

I agree but due to age he has already reached his mountain top.

Because he was supposed to be a one of the best TEs in the league.. Not just slightly better than a 4th round pick. Gresham was a 1st rounder with huge expectations he has not yet lived up to.

This. Ask any Bengals fan and they will tell you Gresham has been a dissappointment. The only thing he consistently does is drop the ball.

Saying no one but us could put up 34 points on San Fran is just ignorant. Technically our offense put up 27. Any given Sunday. Rodgers or Brady could of. Could we do it again? Who knows! Hell we have a shoot out with Pats in regular season and then we destroy them in playoffs. Everything was going right for us and we were peaking at the right time.

Just don't see how you can make a generalization based on 1 game.

First of all, I said only one team scored more than the 34 points we scored against SF all season long, and it wasn't Brady, Ryan, Brees or Rodgers (twice), all of whom played SF, and all of whom lost. And that is not ignorant, that is a fact, so give Flacco credit for doing what none of those other guys could do in their five games combined. So that's how I came to my "generalization" when I said we PROBABLY dont win that game with anyone other than Flacco. He did what others failed to do, on five seperate occasions.

Secondly, that "any given Sunday" business applies to SF as well. Maybe next time our defense doesnt blow a double digit lead in a matter of minutes, and we blow them out. I dont care about any given Sunday, I care about reality and what actually occured.

Have you ever seen him play? He is softer than paper. He is the Brandon Meriweather of Tight ends.

When Ravens play them he is who concerns me most after A.J. Green.

A am aware that my TE choice would draw some disagreement but I stand by it. Being slightly better than Dennis Pitta is no small order, 4th rounder or not, Dennis is very good.

Dennis is good but he's probably not even a top 12 TE in the league. Top 15 is probably where Dennis would be with Gresham just a notch ahead of him. Gresham was drafted with the expectation of him being an all-pro top 3 TE along the lines of Graham and Gronk not a fairly productive TE that's a poor blocker and drops way too many passes. Miller is better than both Pitta and Gresham at this point. Gresham still has room to grow but it seems unlikely who improves too much from this point.
