Well, Hopkins rules (obviously). One of the worst appendectomys and largest abscesses they've seen and here we are (shirt not intentional):

Glad to hear all those well wishes and prayers went to good use.  Congrats!  Hopefully this will be the last hospital visit for quite some time.

How soon does he get to go home?

Awake and responsive. Always a good sign. Did they do the surgery laparoscopically?

Also, I think at this point we all know I'm not mushy over kids and don't necessarily like them, but that is a cute kid. And I say that, like, once a year. If that.

Thank you very much everyone!!!

7-10 days is the guess right now due to how high the fever got to (104.7) and how nasty the infection was.

Ha, thanks. They used inserted cameras, drain tubes and some other stuff. But no massive incisions like mine was 25 years ago.

Brilliant. Healing time is much faster that way instead of getting gutted.

I had a massive cyst on my spleen, as we all know by now because I heart talking about it, and I had the same type of surgery, and I could run in about 2 weeks. If it'd been the old school way, it would have taken about a month or so.

Yeah, the difference 25 years makes in medicine...I have 4 massive scars from a double hernia, appendectomy myself and the removal of some of my small intestine. Also had my spleen rupture. My poor folks, ha.

Little guy is too cute-- glad he did well. The problem in a couple days will be keeping him quiet and his IV in-- that's a good problem !

I thought he was ten? Wow!

Oh C'mon lol.

My little bro just turned ten on Thursday actually.

It's the one day of the year for the past 7 years that we go to Outback Steakhouse.

I thought you meant kids in general :P

Misbehaved anyone, teen or adult, I don't like. But you're okay. Just don't grow up to be my stepbrother.

IK lol.

Quick question. Someone explain to me how a Ribeye is cheaper than a New York Strip?

Anyone????

I'm a bit late in response since I didn't get to say good luck in time but I'm glad all went well and hopefully it's a speedy and successful recovery.

Tiny low quality ribeye or top notch New York Strip.

Everything's more expensive in New York.

All I can think of is the fat content of the rib-eye would be much greater than the strip.

So, yeah.  That would be about it.  You're buying less fat and more meat.
