Which NFL Player Would Make The Best Pro Wrestler?

25 posts in this topic

I watched religiously from the 80s to the 90s. But they were talking about this on NFL AM today. Thought I might hear the following

  • Jared Allen for sure,. No better showmanship in all of football than the post sack hog-tie celebration
  • Maybe even Bart Scott after the Can't Wait monologue in New England
  • Perhaps JJ Watt as the new Goldberg since he shuts everybody and everything down
  • Maybe even Phil Rivers - I know he's a good guy off the field but a heinous trash talker who could re-define what it means to be a villain in a new age where nobody's a "good guy" or a "bad guy" anymore
  • ...possibly even Rolando McClain who could even go as Bad News Brown's son...almost slight enough resemblance to lend credibility to the storyline
  • Or speaking of which James Laurinitis (sp?) since he's got it in his blood

Before he retired it would have to be Ray Lewis because of his ability to entertain. I'm not much into wrestling, though. So outside of him I'm really not sure

Wasn't Ray a wrestler in school? Could have sworn he won some awards as a wrestler

2X state champ. Not sure if one was at 171lbs or both were at 189lbs

You have a point. Outside of him another guy I thought of

Vince Wolfork >= OneManGang

I LOVE this question.

Goose once upon a time.

Ray, as was said, for hype and entertainment value.

Sizzle, cause he is big as profanity deleted.

Princess Brady can be one of those girly wrestlers you love to hate.

Chad Ocho Cinco would be a GREAT wrestler.

I thought about Bernard. He could just be the Angry Guy that everybody wants to avoid makin mad.

I know Steve Smith would be the perfect tag-team partner for one of their storylines cause he beat up one of his teammates a few years back

Chad Ocho reminds me of a manager they had back in the day named "The Doctor of Style" Slick. He would just run his mouth all day long and if you got your hands on him he would run and hide. That's Chad Ocho...

I'm sorry..

Ngata and Suh would destroy all.

Suh would destroy all unless he had to face JJ Watt. He'd have to pull out a chair or something but hey, we're talking about Suh...not exactly out of his wheelhouse of tricks

Art Jones. He trains with his brother during off season right?

He seems like too much of a nice guy though. Or am I the only one that gets that impression.

He was a state champ in high school I believe. Him and Kelly Gregg - who was a 3x state champ went for takedowns in the locker room one time.

btw Goose was a state champ as was Lorenzo Neal who was also All-America.

i wrestled in college so this stuff always catches my attention

Terrell Suggs: Total package, both physically and on the mic.

James Laurinaitis: It's in his blood. By default, he'd have the natural physical gifts. Verbally, remains to be seen.

Brian Urlacher: He's already been involved with TNA Wrestling, so he's had exposure to the business. He'd make a good, old-school babyface.

Clay Matthews: He loves the industry and has respect for it. He has a good look but needs work on the mic.

Terrell Owens: Classic heel on the mic.

Chris Kluwe: Well-spoken, quick-witted, and would make a great manager for someone in need of a mouthpiece.

Aaron Rodgers he has that classy/humorous swagger. I would watch him, plus he has experience from his moment on The Office..he is getting primed

As soon as I saw the title of this thread, Brian Urlacher and Clay Matthews popped in my head.  Urlacher would be your new Goldberg.  Matthews could almost be one of the Hardy Boys.  *LOL*
