Urlacher's career spanned 182 games. Here is an interesting look at the Bears' run defense in games he played (Obviously I excluded the 26 games he missed):

 

23 of 182 games Over 5.0 Yard Per Carry = 12.6% of games

39 of 182 games Over 4.5 Yards Per Carry = 21.4% of games

65 of 182 games Over 4.0 Yards Per Carry = 35.7% of games

 

1 Game over 300 Yards

7 Games over 200 Yards

31 Games over 150 Yards 

99 of 182 games Over 100 yards Rushing = 54.4% of games

 

 

I tried to get a similar amount of games for Ray. 1999-2012 Ray played in 184 games. Here is his breakdown. (Excluding the 40 Games Ray missed in that time frame)

 

8 games over 5.0 yards per carry = 4.3% of games

19 games over 4.5 yards per carry = 10.3% of games

39 games over 4.0 yards per carry = 21.2% of games

 

0 Games over 300 yards

3 games over 200 yards (2008 vs Giants, 2012 vs KC, 2012 vs Dallas)

13 Games over 150 yards (in the same time span 8 additional games of over 150 happened in the 40 games Ray missed)

 

During this near same amount of games, NFL teams were were over 22% more likely to rush for over 100 yards vs the Urlacher led Bears while over 14% more likley to average 4.0 yards per carry. Teams had over two times as many games over 4.5 yards per carry vs the Urlacher led Bears and were nearly three times more likely to average 5.0 yards per carry on them. 

 

Now Urlacher fans would love you to believe that he was playing with a bunch of no names. This is far from true.
