QB Coach?

34 posts in this topic

I don't remember anybody saying he was "great", though he occasionally called a good game. About the best anyone around here ever said was "he's not THAT bad; he does win a lot of games".

I do remember someone saying he was a great neighbor.    <_<

Having thought about it, there is one reason I could see us bringing in a quarterback coach. Yes Jim is a "failed" former head coach, but people love to rehire former coaches. I could see, if the offense takes off next year, Jim's name being thrown around as a HC candidate (we of all teams should no how much other teams covet our coaches, though in the past it was always defensive guys). It might be a good idea to have someone in place to fill the void in case that happens, and having a guy who's already spent a year in the system would make any transition smoother. We do have Montgomery and Hostler in house as offensive guys, and Juan Castillo, but IDK if that's a good idea given we're trending towards a pass-driven offense. So if the question is do we need a QB coach to help Joe, I'd say no, but if the question is "do we need a QB coach in genera", and I'm thinking more of hiring a potential future OC and grooming him type of gig, then my answer would be I'm not opposed to it.
