Bernard Pollard animosity?

I'm surprised he'd pass on the opportunity to go to the White House and meet the President, regardless of his feelings towards Harbs.

You people show little loyalty.... He was asked several times by Steve Davis, skirted around the issue. He loved the fans, players, boss and GM but he didn't like the coach. Would you go to an event at your old work if the manager who fired you was going to be there?

They asked Pollard a question, he answered it. Whining would be taking to twitter or actively trying to voice it.

Not going to the White House with the Team is petty and immature. So what if you don't like someone that's going to be there.  It's meant to be a celebration of the Team's accomplishments, not a personal visit. Not going only affirms the implied reasons for his release.

The White House after winning a championship, you better believe it!

Life happens, teams cut players, guys don't get along. Everyone else has moved past it.

I was a big Pollard fan and was very disappointed by his release. But come on, it's not a company picnic -  it's an honorary trip to the White House for the Super Bowl Champions. It's his choice but one he'll probably regret later.

After the Super Bowl, someone (might have been Ray) said that even though the locker room would never be the same after that season, they would always be connected as Super Bowl Champions. Why Pollard would choose to disregard that because of his anger (justified or not) towards Harbaugh is beyond me. I realize that him choosing not attend doesn't mean that he's turning his back on everyone else, but still - it's like not going to a once in a lifetime family reunion because you are mad at your uncle.

Oh well, while everyone else is being honored by the President, he and Boldin can hang out...oh wait. Nevermind. Boldin will be at the White House with the rest of the TEAM.

I wish Bernard luck in Titans. He was a rock for us. He broke 6 ribs and played his heart out for Ravens.

You guys can kick his tires and take sides. But his been a blast to watch.

Good luck in your future Pollard.

That's just it. It's not at the Castle--it's at the White House. He doesn't have to hold John's hand.

I'm all for being open-minded about things. I even see where Pollard is coming from here and agree to a certain extent. With that said, humility is clearly not in his lexicon as it's a chance to meet the president of the United States of America. It's not God but even if you dislike Obama it's hard to turn down an invite to the White House without looking childish.

You just dont get it........ Pollard is the kind of guy who if HE felt their was any problems between him & you he's going to pull you to the side bout it, so why would you want that kind of problem at the White House? ???? It's best that he dont go cause he clearly doesn't want to be around Harbs.

Some people are just cut from a different cloth......

So him not going is him being noble and responsible by chosing not to make a scene in front of the President? Whatever. His loss.

What???  It's called acting like a MAN and not a petulant youngster. When you are 28 years old any cloth you are cut from should include maturity.

I agree with you 100%

Pretty sensitive group here.

He was one of my favorite players on the Ravens. His feelings post Ravens cutting him have no influence on my opinion of him at all.

It's kind of sad that he chooses not to go with the Team to the WH............... I so much enjoyed watching him in a Ravens uniform.

Think he will show up to get his ring?  Or will he ask to have it fedexed to him?  LOL!

I think he did say he wanted it mailed to him but don't quote me on that.

He said he would pick it up or they can mail it. At end he said he ll be back in town to see everyone and pick it up himself.

He said he had already planned a vacation with his family and that his family comes first.

It's just a handshake from the president, some people appreciate it more than others

Yeah. This sounds about right to me. That sounds like what I loosely remember him saying.

Excuse me, but that's President. And if you are an American citizen you should consider it a high honor to be invited to meet him, whether you like him or not, or whether you would dislike anyone else in the room. A "family vacation" or "I don't like so and so" is not a valid excuse to snub the President.

Right. A FREEDOM that is fought for by folks that are led by the President of the United States.

You must want these grow men to be mind less fools for the organization they play for. Heads up buddy, CrushBoy was the Union PR for the Raven Players so it was his job to speak out against things that they felt where wrong. Remember Harbs tried to make them play in full pads that time after the Houston lost, well that was against the new CBA rules buddy .......

if they were grown adult men we wouldnt be hearing about arrests, domestic abuse, stealing, drugs ,   pollard was a clubhouse lawyer, with a big mouth and anyone who played football past high school knows unless you're the superstar, you have your place on the team, you do your job not the front offices, not the coaches job. if he had paid more attention to his job he would still be here, but pollard was terrible last year, if he was any good why would the texans get rid of him , thank gawd all the dead wgt is gone and we can build again !!

Ill be the one to say they did him wrong

So it's wrong to cut a player for undermining the coaching staff?
